Reader is self conscious about their scars and confides in their S/O, Sidon

The sky above Hyrule darkened into a deep cerulean blue, and the ripples of the water surrounding Zora's Domain seemed to become louder as the people inhabiting the palace settled in to relax. The moon rose, signaling night across the kingdom, and most zora children were already sleeping soundly while their parents were getting themselves ready for bed.

The king had long finished his duties for the day and was watching over his quiet home as his eyelids grew heavy. Muzu, his right hand, had already turned in for the night - though, as always, he did so hesitantly, not wanting to risk any precious working time.

The prince, however, was still up, waiting in his quarters for the return of his beloved. To say he was wide awake would be an overstatement, but he wasn't going to let himself rest until you were back at the domain. You had spent the weekend out camping with Link and the rest of your training group, getting in some much needed time away from your constant duties.

Earlier that evening, you all headed back to the castle for dinner, and then Link allowed everyone to head home. You were exhausted by the time you returned to the domain, struggling to keep your eyes open as you walked across the bridge. You stopped to talk to Bazz once you arrived, and then up the stairs you walked, your feet aching more with every single step. You had considered staying the night in one of the stables just west of Lanayru, but you had been looking forward to seeing Sidon all day.

Finally, you reached the doors that lead to Sidon's room, and you lazily brought your hand up to knock against the blue stone. As quiet as it may have been, Sidon heard it, and he rushed to let you in.

"_____!" He beamed, opening his arms up when he saw you. You smiled tiredly, and you giggled when he placed his large hands on either side of your face before he kissed you. "I missed you, my dear."

"I could say the same." You sighed as he let you inside, and he closed the door and watched as you walked to the large bed in the center of the room and set your stuff down next to your side. "I was thinking we could sleep in your pool tonight. I feel so sore."

"Perhaps a massage would help," He stood behind your shorter figure and gently placed his hands on your shoulders, giving them a light squeeze. You instantly groaned, discomforted slightly when your sore muscles tensed, but more pleased about how soothing his grip felt at the same time. His hands continued to wander your back, pressing into every spot, every knot that was causing you pain.

"That's the spot... right there..." You leaned slightly back into him, allowing him to work his magic. He smiled softly as he felt you relaxing, and he roved his eyes over your form. After a moment of wandering, his view finally landed on your arms, where you had faint scars and scratches you accumulated on your many adventures. He then looked to your hands, where you had badanges wrapped around them, and he silently wondered about them.

He was usually hesitant to ask about any wounds you had, knowing that they were an insecurity of yours. But as the two of you grew closer in your relationship, he noticed that you had gotten more comfortable telling him about them. After all, he did love to listen to your tales.

"_____, my darling," He started, and you only hummed in response, too focused on his hands on your neck. He slowly trailed one hand down your arm, and he cupped your hand in his to lift it up gently. "Why is your hand bandaged?"

"Hm? Oh, yeah, I got cut when we went fishing."

"Fishing? What happened?" He tilted his head curiously, watching as you climbed on to the bed so you could sit and relax your feet for a moment, and you started unwrapping the badanges.

"Well, one of the bass I caught this afternoon was pretty big, so Link was helping me handle it. I guess I got my hand a little to close to its mouth, 'cause the dang fish decided to spit that hook right back at me." You studied the cuts on your hand for a moment, and when you looked back up, you saw the slight distress on your boyfriend's face. "But I'm alright, Sidon."

"We should get those re-wrapped." He rushed to find a bandage roll in one of his chests, and you only flopped back against the pillows and watched him. "Here." He found the roll, and he sat down on the bed beside you and reached for your hand. He carefully began to wrap the think cloth around your hand, not wishing to cause you any irritation.

"Sidon," You began, and he glanced up at you for a moment. "Do you think you would like me better if I didn't have my scars?"

"Like you? _____, I love you, we've been over this." He chuckled softly, but you sighed, and his smile faded quickly.

"I mean, would I be more attractive to you? Sometimes, I wonder if you wish you were with someone who was more... perfect." You pulled your freshly bandaged hand back to yourself, and you studied the neat wrap.

"But you are perfect." His hands wrapped around yours, and pulled your two hands together in his palms. You looked up to meet his golden eyes, though he was already staring deep into yours. "For me."

He reached one of his hands up to cup one side of your face, and he grazed his thumb gently across the skin below your right eye. He glanced at the scar that trailed above it, but his eyes met with yours again quickly.

"Every cut, every bruise, every little mark. It tells a story of a time you endured through something. A time you were brave, a time you were strong. I admire all of those things about you." He brushed a strand of your hair out of your face and then tucked it behind your ear. "If others can't see what I see, well, then, perhaps something is wrong with them."

You smiled at his words, and he pressed his forehead against yours as you reached up and placed your hand on his cheek.

"I love you. Nothing will ever change that." He pulled away and pressed a kiss to your forehead, and then he positioned himself back where he was sitting. "And besides," He said, turning his head so you could see the scar on his left headfin. "I have a few stories of my own."

"I love you, Sidon." You breathed, and he smiled and squeezed the hand he was still holding. "Thank you."

He trailed his hand up your arm until he reached your shoulder again and gave it a squeeze. "Now. About that massage?"

"Please tell me more." You let yourself fall into him, and he laughed and lifted you off the bed with him so the pair of you could get comfortable, into the water bed, and you could get a massage and more sweet talk from your zora prince.

Hey! This request was from @NovaMoonblade

Sorry this one is a bit late (and accidentally published a bit too soon if anyone noticed), I hope it's written alright! I'm about ready to head to bed as I'm wrapping this up, though I do have additional notes

I had a second slightly different idea for this request I wanted to write, and I am going to try and have it out a bit sooner than this one was

And writing again for the first time in a while felt very nice, also, I feel more encouraged to pick my other projects back up too

That's all from me for now, and thank you so much for the request friend! Hope you have a lovely day/night
