(You and your crush)
POV: (y/n)It was a breezy day and everyone in the crew was in a midday slump. As the captain of The Rose Wrecker I wasn't feeling so chipper myself.
After contemplating shouting at more crew members for their subpar efforts in keeping us afloat amongst the sea's violent demeanor, my thoughts were interrupted by my first mate shouting at me about something.
If there was anyone I wasn't going to yell at it was her, often times her intuition was right and I know too much about her to even think about what it could do if I ever did raise my voice at her.
"What's the problem Ruby?" I shouted from above the cabin.
"Someone's adrift captain! And she looks pretty badly hurt!"
"Fetch her out of the water now! See if she's still alive!" As I said this I shouted it toward the crew who immediately stopped what they were doing and went to go help. I didn't care if it was only because they suddenly had an adrenaline rush, I wanted to make sure that girl was okay. I'm not sure why, but something in me just said that I had too.
As they heaved her up out of the water, her body sagged from the weight. She was cold and had some gashes and scratches sprinkled throughout her body. I got closer to her and listened for breathing. She was, thank the stars, but she was badly injured and unconscious.
"What should we do, Captain?" asked Ruby.
"I'll take care of her. You command the crew and make sure we get out of this storm safely."
"Aye."
I took the cold, wet girl in my arms and carefully brought her to the cabin. I laid her down on a blanket and tried to wrap some of her wounds in other things I had available; clothes, rags, etc. As I was tending to them I couldn't help but notice how beautiful her (c/e/c) eyes were. She had three major points of bleeding that I sought to stop. I grabbed some gauze like cloth and wrapped them around the points, two were in one arm, and one in the leg. Looking at them, they didn't seem deep enough to need stitching, but I was wondering what could've knocked her out to cause her to bleed so much. I laid her back down and covered her in a thick blanket, hoping to get her to warm up. I sat beside her for a while and played with her soft (c/h/c) hair and stroked the side of her face. I could've sworn I saw her smile when I did that. I just sat there and watched.
A few minutes passed, and I heard some stirring. She made the sweetest squeak sound as she was starting to rise, but her confusion and fear snapped me out of my trance instantly.
She breathed heavily and swung her good arm in my direction trying to hit me.
"Where am I? What do you want with me?" Her saying this nearly split my ear drums. "Are you going to hurt me like the bad ones did?" As she said this there was the slightest indication that she was trying to stay strong, but all of her emotion was overpowered by tears.
"Sweetheart, I'm not going to hurt you. You're alright. I promise." At these words she finally seemed to understand. She looked down at her bandaged body and back at me. Her lips began to quiver. "Don't cry, love. Everything's alright." I inched closer to her and set her head on my lap. She settled into me and calmed down as I moved her hair out of her face. I kissed her forehead as I kept caressing her. "Everything's alright."I might make a part 2 idk
Note: this is my first time doing this so bear with me.
