Soundwave had never forgotten the agonizing decision he was forced to make. As a Decepticon warrior and spy who remained loyal to Megatron, he had to set aside personal feelings for the greater good of the faction.
During the final days of the Cybertronian War, Soundwave's sparkling LightWave, was just a few cycles away from hatching from her protoform. Knowing that he could not protect her and that the war was unwinnable, he made a painful choice to send her away from Cybertron on an escape pod for her safety.
Soundwave was aware that LightWave would be defenseless without him. The thought of not seeing her grow up or never knowing what had happened to her was unbearable. He had searched every corner of the Galaxy for any sign of her every day since, but after millennia of searching, he had given up hope.
With the Decepticons now operating on Earth, Soundwave's servitude to Megatron continued. However, he was also haunted by memories of his daughter and the sense of guilt that he had not been there for her.
One day while surveying a heavily wooded area, his sensors picked up a faint signal nearby. He followed it and discovered a small, heavily damaged escape pod. In the pod, much to his surprise, was his sparkling daughter LightWave in stasis.
Soundwave quickly took LightWave from the pod after repairing her and helping her health. He scanned his sparkling daughter from top to bottom, looking for any sign of injuries or damage from her time spent in the pod. But as he looked up at her face, he could hardly believe it.
LightWave was no longer sparkling; she had grown into a full-sized bot, and her every feature showed the signs of a difficult life. He was taken aback by his daughter's appearance but was relieved that she had survived.
Soundwave wondered what had happened to her, how she had managed this long without him, and what had made her mother and him part ways. But all that mattered was that his daughter was back, and she was safe. He cradled her in his arms, absorbing the moment they had together.
It was indeed an emotional reunion. Both LightWave and Soundwave had many questions and emotions to sort through, but both silently agreed that those questions could wait for some other time.
Their Lost time is now finally over, Soundwave and LightWave continued their journey together. They had a lot of catching up to do.
