It took a lot of convincing for Thomas to let Rosina go back to the madhouse. But eventually, she did it with the promises and reassurances she made to him

The phone ringing off the hook or making unwanted appointments in the middle of the night.

As he lay awake in his bed he threaded his fingers through the coldness of the empty side where his wife should be in his bed

Not at the fucking madhouse, where she gets beaten black and blue.

The thoughts occurred of what could happen as he was thinking about the unwanted possibilities coming true for him.

He couldn't do it no matter what promises were kept or reassurances that we were going to be needed.

Thomas leapt out of his bed a little bit too fast for his life as a pain shot through the back of his head forgetting he had a critical injury that resulted in him nearly losing his life.

Thomas dressed his suit back on for the final time tonight

He called for his driver to take him to Hampton Court.

Sneaking through the back door of the palace, all the maids had since retired to bed and everyone else had gone away.

Thomas with a gun in his hand slowly crept up the stairs and hid his gun in his satchel

He finally reached the final few steps with no sound to be content. He made his way to her room, the door slightly ajar as he reached for the handle. The door creaked as he nudged it with his palm.

And there she was his wife and as to be expected many markings were around her neck. Thomas couldn't believe his eyes, he bolted forward and checked her pulse, she was still breathing.

He placed his whole palm on her swollen little bump hoping to hear a little heartbeat underneath his big hand. Even though it was impossible sure enough though a little beat drummed.

"Rose" He gently nudged her awake

"Rose love" she stirred

Her eyes slowly fluttered

"What the fuck are you doing here Thomas?" Rosina glared as she rubbed the sleep from her eyes

"Is that one way to speak to your husband?"
(Romany)
"Well like you said I'm a Shelby now" she smirked
(Romany)
"Who did this to you?" He pointed to the severe marks on her throat

"The old father"

"Punishment for disappearing"

"Come on you not staying here any longer" he held out his palm for her to take

"Tommy, don-"

"What taking my wife home" he spitefully suggested
"Tommy you don't know what he's capable of"

"Listen" his finger above his lips. Shushing her.

The sun was soon to rise as the birds started to chirp through the shallow rising. He gently manoeuvred his hands carefully around the bruising that they had made

"Can you hear the blackbirds singing?" She nodded, His eyes never leaving from hers
He suddenly pulled her towards him. His palms flat against her cheeks and whispered above her ear

"It's a beautiful sound, which you deserve to hear every day... next to me" he let her go

"Tommy what's wrong?" by the judge of his appearance he had not slept his eyes carrying large bags around them. His hair was ruffled and not easily kept in place. And his eyes had lost the subtle ocean blue.
