"So, when are we going to do it, mami?" Karano asked Hazel the following morning. They were still in bed, having taken care of their bathroom needs before going back for a few snuggles. They had some airboat tours to conduct later, but right now was their alone time.
"I just wanna make sure you're serious about this," Hazel said, running her hands up and down Karano's arms. "This isn't something we can undo."
"I know it isn't! That is kind of the idea, bebita. I want to be with you forever. You're effectively immortal at this point, and I'm going to keep getting older. You're the love of my life, my mate, and if I have a chance to stay with you forever, then that is what I want to do."
"Of course, I want to be with you forever too, it's just a big step!" Hazel replied. "I guess we're doing this then!"
"Who goes first? I think I should, right? Because yours happens faster?" Karano suggested.
"Yeah. Yours won't affect me for a few days, but mine will affect you right away."
Making a werewolf isn't hard, just like making a vampire, though the process is a little different. With a vampire, Hazel would bite Karano and drink her blood, and then feed Karano her own blood in return. At that point, the changes would happen quickly, and Karano would be a mess for a few hours to a day. For making a werewolf, Karano would have to bite Hazel and then mix their blood in the wound, but as long as it was deep enough, then that was it. It would take several days to a week for her wolf to awaken and she would be able to change at the next full moon. By that time, both women would be hybrids, a combination of werewolf and vampire, and some of the most powerful supernatural creatures around.
Yes, they may have already thought about the implications of what that would mean to their love life, and they were excited at the prospects, but more important to them was that they would live together for a lot longer than they would if Karano didn't get turned. Technically, Hazen didn't need to get bitten, but if she was making Karano a hybrid, then she wanted to be one too. That was fair, right?
"Okay, lets do this!" Hazel said. She was a bit nervous, if only because she knew it would hurt a little, but the prospect of centuries together with Karano was too good to pass up.
"Do you have the knife?" Karano asked. She crouched in the bed and prepared to shift. There was no need for her to strip as the pair would always sleep naked. In the warm Florida evenings, having the cool body of Hazel next to her always left her sleeping peacefully.
"Yeah, right here." Hazel held up a small belt knife that she'd set aside for this day.
"Alright, last chance to back out!"
"No chance. Two hybrids, together forever." Hazel replied, holding her arm out.
With a growl, Karano started to shift, freeing her wolf, Eowyn, in her mind, and allowing her to take over. Like her humanoid wolf form, Eowyn was jet black, but only stood waist high as a wolf. It was odd to see her standing on the bed, and Hazel giggled at the sight. Eowyn quickly licked Hazel's face with wolf kisses, getting even more giggles from her, before she licked her arm, right where she planned to bite her. The wolf looked over at Hazel and cocked her head.
"Do it, I'm ready."
Soundlessly, Eowyn opened her mouth, and bit down, causing Hazel to gasp out and then groan in pain. She'd been expecting it to hurt, but that didn't make it feel any better when it happened. Seconds later, the arm was free, and Eowyn was holding out her paw. This was the part that had to be quick, as the vampire's natural healing abilities would close the wound up in a hurry. Hazel flicked the knife out, and a small slice appeared on Eowyn's paw. As the blood pooled, the wolf pressed the wound to the one her jaws had made on Hazel's arm.
