As you entered the university grounds, you were immediately captivated by its breathtaking beauty. The sight was so awe-inspiring that you couldn't resist uttering a simple yet heartfelt word:
"Beautiful"
As you stepped into the classroom, your gaze scanned the room, taking in the array of new faces. Amidst the sea of unfamiliarity, however, a flicker of recognition caught your attention. A rush of nostalgia swept over you as you realized that amidst these strangers, there stood someone you had known since childhood.
"My childhood bestie"
In that moment, as your eyes met, a spark of recognition ignited within both of you. Without hesitation, she rushed towards you, her face glowing with delight. Embracing you tightly, she let out an exuberant squeal, bubbling over with a contagious level of excitement that transcended ordinary bounds.
"Y/nnah!! It's been so long since we met! How have you been?" The girl with bangs, your childhood bestie Louren asked you.
"I'm great as usual! How about you?" You replied with a wide smile.
"Same bae! I missed you." She said giving a little cute expression.
"How did you end up here?"
"Oh that's because I got the scholarship here and my sissy studies here too." She explained.
"Oh yeah. How's your sister by the way?"
"Very fine!"
Engrossed in conversation, the two of you continued to share stories and laughter. However, your attention was soon drawn to a girl with long, curly black hair who entered the room. A wave of excitement washed over your companion as she spotted her, prompting her to rush over and envelop her in a warm embrace. Their joyful interaction and radiant smiles led you to assume that this girl with the long, curly black hair was her current best friend, bringing them both immense happiness.
Upon being introduced to her bestie, you discovered her name was Nia. As you got to know her better, you found her to be truly captivating-charming, kind, funny, and undeniably cute. It became evident that Louren deserved someone like her, with her vibrant personality and wonderful qualities. In comparison, you perceived yourself as quiet, boring, and introverted in this dynamic.
To be honest, you couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness as you reminisced about how the two of you used to be the best of friends, sharing everything together. However, circumstances changed when her mom transferred to another place, and you were left feeling alone and disconnected.
As time went on, you underwent a significant change, transforming into a complete introvert. Engaging in conversations became increasingly challenging, leaving you struggling to find topics to discuss, often leading to awkward moments. Unfortunately, this shift affected your interactions with others, and as a result, people no longer found happiness in conversing with you.
You were not only best friends but also neighbors, which allowed you, Louren, and Addison, her sister who is just a year older than you, to spend countless hours playing together as children. The bond extended beyond your friendship, as your parents also shared a strong connection. These shared memories and close proximity added an extra layer of meaning to your relationship, making the current distance between you all even more poignant.
No longer sharing those fun experiences, you find yourself replaced by Nia, who now sits beside her. Not only did they attend the same high school, but they also ended up in the same college. These circumstances left you feeling a tinge of jealousy.
You spotted someone whilst sighing, Jin. Your high school friend.
You waved at him with a hint of hesitation, mustering a smile. Promptly he responded with a gentle smile.
