You cradled your favorite book in your hands, engrossed in its pages, soaking up every word without interruption. The soft light from a nearby lamp cast a warm glow, making it the perfect setting to escape into the world of the story. Your hot chocolate, a comforting companion, sat beside you, untouched.
However, your tranquil moment was briefly interrupted by the ringing of your phone. You reluctantly put the book down and answered the call.
"Hey," Mr. Kim's voice came through the phone.
You smiled as you replied, "Yes, sir? How are you?" Your gaze shifted to the window, the view outside offering a brief respite from the book's enchantment.
"I'm good, actually," he responded with a nervous chuckle, awaiting your next words.
"That's good. It's been a while since you came here," you remarked as he responded with a quiet "yeah."
He continued, "You know, the paperwork - that's why I couldn't make it," his voice carrying a hint of sadness.
You smiled reassuringly and replied, "Yeah, that's okay, really."
He hesitated for a moment before saying, "Umm... I was wondering something," causing your eyebrows to raise in curiosity.
"Yes?" You heard a sigh from the other side.
"Actually... I accidentally broke my mom's favorite vase and she's coming tomorrow... please save me!" he pleaded with the tone of a child. You couldn't help but chuckle at his helpless predicament.
"That's fine, I'm coming then," you replied, causing his face to light up with gratitude.

You knocked on his door and looked around. The place was quiet and serene. He immediately opened the door and welcomed you with a warm smile.
You couldn't help but notice how comfortable he seemed in his casual attire, and it made him appear quite handsome. Well, he had always been, but there was something particularly charming about him in this moment. His heart raced as he caught you staring at him, and he felt a flutter of excitement.
"Hi!" he greeted you with a warm smile. "Come on in!" he invited, moving aside to let you enter.
As you stepped inside, you couldn't help but notice how neat and tidy everything was. His house exuded an air of tranquility, much like the man himself.
"I remember your mom mentioning how creative you are since childhood, so in this time of need, the first person who came to my mind was you," he said, breaking your thoughts. You nodded, smiling a little. "The vase is in the living room."
You followed him into the living room and noticed the shattered vase on the floor. It was evident that it had once been a beautiful piece, and you could understand why he was concerned about it.
You crouched down to assess the damage. "I think we can put this back together. Do you have some glue or adhesive?"
He nodded and quickly fetched some glue from a nearby drawer. Together, you painstakingly started to piece the vase back together. It was a delicate process, but with patience, you managed to restore the vase to its former glory.
As you both carefully placed the last piece in its position, Mr. Kim let out a sigh of relief. "Thank you, you're a lifesaver. I can't believe we managed to fix it."
"You're most welcome, sir!" You exclaimed, smiling softly. He mirrored your smile as well. "Your house is very pretty and gorgeous," you complimented him, smiling softly.
"Yeah... Well, I have something in my house that you might love," he exclaimed with a mischievous smile.
"Really?!" He nodded. Intrigued you, followed him towards a room.
Inside, you were greeted by a vast collection of Haruki Murakami's books. Your jaw dropped as you took in the sight of numerous other books as well.
"You freaking have all of these books?!" You exclaimed, slightly touching the books as he watched you with a smile. "They're amazing!" Your excitement was palpable as you marveled at his collection. You looked at him with delight in your eyes.
"I've read almost all of the books, and trust me, '1Q84' is a must-read," he recommended with enthusiasm.
"I really want to, but it's hard to find," you replied, still admiring the books.
"I had a copy, but one of my friends took it from me, so it's missing from my favorites here," he explained whilst you nodded.
"Here's one more thing you'd love since you have a deep love for music," he said with a mischievous smile. Your eyes sparkled with curiosity.
This time, he led you to his room, which exuded aesthetics. In the corner, you noticed a piano. He sat down on a stool beside it and began to play. You took a seat on his bed, closing your eyes to fully immerse yourself in the enchanting melody.
He finished, and you applauded. "That was amazing!" you exclaimed, smiling. His heart raced faster than anything else in the world.
"Thanks," he replied, a bashful smile gracing his face. Just then, your phone buzzed. You flinched and checked the caller ID.
"It's mom. I think I need to go," you said apologetically, and you both got up.
"Should I walk you home?" he asked, his sincerity evident.
"Ah, no, there's no need," you shook your head and smiled, reassuring him. "I'll be on my way then." He nodded, and you headed towards the door, with him following.
"Bye. Take care and go safely!" he said, causing you to turn back and smile. You gave a small bow and continued walking, while he watched your retreating figure with a smile.
He closed the door, and his gaze fell upon the vase, which now looked entirely whole and unblemished. A smile crept onto his face, and he closed his eyes, savoring the memory of the time your hands had accidentally touched while mending the broken vase. He couldn't stop smiling.
"I think I'm in love...."
