"We have exited the Wormhole. We are now in the Gamma Quadrant" Vanessa reported
A week had passed and their journey was nearly at its end. Much to everyone's excitement. They were ready to return to DS9 and enjoy civilization again.
"Good set course for New Bajor" Tadashi said. "How much longer?"
"New Bajor is a day travel away so two or so more days and we can all be sitting in Quarks having a drink again!" Vanessa exclaimed
"Thank God I'm starting to hate being stuck on a ship for weeks. Sato I wanna talk in a second. Everyone else well since we have another day. Just do what ever "
"Hold on a second Tadashi... I'm getting a Distress call.... It's federation?"
"Huh? Federation? .. put it on" Tadashi said sitting back down as the speakers above blared out static before a voice spoke
"This is Captain Hikaru Sulu of the...... Excelsior.... Unknown Anomaly. Damage sustained.. require assistance... Planetoid.... Crew is..... Help is needed immediately!" The static ceased as the recording cut off
"Can you clear that up at all?" Tadashi asked
"No afraid not it's coming from 15 lyrs away and interference from that area is messing with it. We'd need to get closer but... Sulu... The Excelsior?"
"I know Sulu he's very popular in Tokyo he was the helmsman of the Original Enterprise and went on to Captain the USS Excelsior. But he retired years ago I've met him. My parents are actually friends with him he used to visit home when I was a kid him and my dad shared drinks in the garden together. My mom says he still visits her. How the fuck are we getting a Distress call?"
"Dunno but I've narrowed down it's location. A class D planet just outside Dominion space.... What do we do. Tell Starfleet?" Vanessa asked
Tadashi gripped his chair and frowned. "How long is the food in our cargobay good for?" He asked
"If we mantain the current temp and atmosphere levels it should last another week?" Sato answered
"Well y'all all agreed I became a coward who don't take risk anymore so. Vanessa plot a course. We'll take a look help out this mystery ghost ship and if we can't do anything we'll tell Starfleet. I just hope it's not another evil non corporal entity that's gonna possess my crew again"
"That was a one time thing and I still have scars from that warp coolant you blew up in my face" Vanessa said plotting the course out
