"Why ask the better? When I'm clearly the best here, sir," the president of the STEM partylist uttered when our principal jokingly asked who's the better student among us. My eyes rolled. What a stupid fuck?

"An arrogant human being running for presidency? Oh, schoolmates, you better think properly!" I said, making the presidents of other partylists bulge out their eyes. They already know that Lucas and I were always the two students who will sacrifice everything to be the highest and number one. Since grade eleven pa kaming nagbabangayan ni Lucas. And he still haven't learned his lesson. Mayabang pa rin!

"Sir Oli told it in a joking manner, dear. Expect my response to be sarcasm. Top 1 ka na niyan?" the arrogant human being smirked. What? The face of him to question my achievement?

"Expect mine to be sarcasm, too, human. And yes, Top 1 ako. Is there any problem with that?" sagot ko. "Palibhasa, galing kang STEM. A den of arrogant students who think they are higher than any other strands."

"Top one in your strand only," Lucas mockingly laughed and slowly shook his head. "Sana nag-treasurer ka na lang. What will you do as a president? Magcompute? Magbenta? Or Mang-uto?"

Kung galing siguro sa ibang tao ito, I'll be offended. But the evil itself speaking those words? Girl, it's not even offensive. It's ironic! "Better run as a secretary as well. Tutal, mahilig ka namang pumapapel," I rebutted. Tumingin siya sa akin at umirap. Look at those eyes, ang gandang alisin!

"Hindi naman kayo mag-ex, guys, right?" the HUMSS president interfered before we even get into each other's nerves.

"Mga anak, better save it sa debates 'no? Pero walang personalan ha? You're doing this for the school," the principal remind us. Both of us remained silent as I continue to stare at him with darkened eyes. As usual, he was just smirking while I'm doing my thing.

"True ka diyan, sir! Stress masyado 'tong mga nakshie ko. Tara na guys, campaign na tayo," the president from TVL smiled at us.

"Good luck, future presidents! Galingan niyo," Principal Oli waved us good bye. Maaga sanang matatapos ang pag-uusap namin nina sir about the upcoming election if only Lucas shut his mouth. Nawalan pa tuloy kami ng 20 minutes!

The different partylists, including ours, spent the day visiting the classrooms of each sections to announce our candidacy and platforms about the future of our school. After Mr. Principal talked to us, hindi ko na ulit nakita si Lucas- which is the nicest thing that happened today...
