The letter

I wiped the tears rolling down my face and went to my room quietly. As I sat on my bed I was in disbelief of what I had just read.

My dear child, I wish so dearly that I didn't have to leave you at such a young age. If I had the ability to make a way to go back and start over with my life, I would take that chance every time. But, I wouldn't be writing to you just to let you know I'm sorry. As of writing this, I'm in the hospital. I can't pay the bills for my treatment and my heart is slowing every hour. The doctors say that I have a few weeks left before I pass.

So, I've decided to put everything I own into my will. I don't have much money, just savings. But I do have a house that only has a free more months to pay off. It's not much considering how much the others are, but it's the least I can do. I've left all my things in boxes so you can sell it throw out what you don't want. I hope you've had a wonderful life so far, and I hope you continue to do so.

Love, Abigail Terriss.

Terris. That was my last name before it was legally Changed to my current one.

knock knock "Hun? You okay in there? I heard sniffles."

"I- Oh yeah! I'm fine ma, I..."

I paused for a moment. I didn't know what to say. 'Oh yeah hi ma my biological mother sent me this letter saying she's going to die and also I'm moving out when she does.'

"Yeah I'm fine ma, can we talk? Nothing very serious."

She opened the door and sat next to me. "You know you can tell my anything Jonas."

"Yeah, yeah I know ma. So, this letter is from my biological mother." Her face turned from her usual soft and understanding look to a concerned one.

"She sent it to let me know she will pass soon, and I will get her house in the will."

She sat there processing the information I had just given, and to be Frank I was too.

Allot was put in that letter and I don't think I was ready yet.

We had just lost my brother to a car accident so this greif from somone I never got to meet towering atop of all I have to deal with already is allot.

Confused sadness filled the room.

"Can we go see her?" I muttered out in between my shaken breath.

"Oh honey... we can see her any time you want."

A jerked up from my bed immediately and grabbed my torn bag. "Then we're going."

My mother stood as well and cupped my face between her pale, warm hands.

"As much as I want to, I can't. Lila is still processing the loss of your brother, she needs somone to stay with her."

"I'll go alone. I have enough money for a hotel and gas."

I gave her a kiss on the cheek an scurried out the door, not thinking twice about what I was about to get myself into.
