She slept for a couple of hours. I couldn't but I didn't want to let her go. So I stayed in her bed, holding her while she recovered, laying my hand protectively on her bandage as it seemed to soothe her. It wasn't painful earlier but that was the adrenaline, now each time she moved a bit I sensed her discomfort. I smiled to myself recalling the sight of her body shivering and giving out after she had climaxed like nothing I had ever witnessed and smiled even more at the memory of her declaration on how she trusted me. They were the most beautiful words of love she could have ever chosen.

The sun was still shining its cold light on the room so I looked around from where I was. It seemed this room had not been changed. The rest of the packhouse was modern, cold and even lifeless. Here, it seemed he had left it like when she was still here. I sniffed a bit and smelled his stench all over the place, he must have come here quite often but I was so glad to see all the things she had left behind a decade ago. There were pictures on the wall, posters of movies and plays, books, CDs, and all the things from a childhood bedroom. I couldn't wait to explore it. She moved a bit in her sleep, her back was completely facing me now making my hand move away from her stomach. Yeah she didn't always like being touched there but as I tried to remove my arm, she grabbed it and put it back on her stomach. I checked to see if she had woken up but no, she did that unconsciously. And my heart skipped another beat. Every barrier between us had been lifted... I heard someone quietly walking toward next to the room and laying something in front of the door.

She started waking up at some point, it must have been the end of the afternoon. She turned around to see me watching her and she frowned.

"How long have you been awake?" she inquired in her husky sleepy voice.

"I didn't sleep." I simply answered.

"You could have left you know... it's okay. I know you would have come back if I woke up and you weren't here."

"And who would have protected you while you rested?" A tiny smile escaped her lips when I said that. "Speaking of protection, can I call Dr. Goodman to check your wound, Alpha Raymond said he'd send him?"

"Yeah, that would be wise. If I don't do it, I won't hear the end of it from Arthur..." she joked.

"Darling, that ship has long sailed! You closed the wound yourself with a freaking stapler, you already lost that battle and Arthur and George will scold you like a naughty child!" I grinned.

"Maybe, but I'm sure you enjoy my naughty side, don't you?" she teased and gave me a lustful stare.

"Haven't you had enough woman?" I said in a falsely shocked tone.

"Of you? Never my love!" When she tried to move to give me a kiss, her stomach got very sore and she let out a loud exhale of discomfort and dull pain. "Okay, maybe it's a better idea to start with the good doctor."

"That's what I thought!"

I walked out of the bed, still naked and cracked open the door to see what had been left. As I thought, someone had brought back the bag I had left behind the packhouse and a tray of food. I took them and closed back the door. When she stood up to get dressed she looked around. To say she appeared surprised at what she saw would have been an understatement, she looked shocked all around her. She walked naked around the bedroom. It seemed she hadn't even realized this morning that nothing had changed in her old room. Just like I did she sniffed and caught his smell which made her frown. In an attempt to get rid of his smell in her space, she walked towards the window and opened it wide, letting the cold air fill the room. She shivered and walked away from the window, towards me who held the bag. I opened my arms and she let me wrap them around me to share my warmth.
