We have been walking for days, maybe even weeks. I was about to give up as desert meets grass and signs of life are all around me, and my friend Nick. All I brought with me was my name and my face, I am Patrick. People tell me I have dark brown hair and bright blue eyes, I always have a hoodie on and only take them off to sleep or if I overheat in the insulated death traps. Nick is a loud rude short kid who may be a jerk that insults you half of the time but he always has your back... I wonder if he's softer than he looks sometimes. he may be small but he can carry a large load both metaphorically and physically. The kids a fun sized killer. Him and I met two girls who seemed our age in the desert. We dont know who they are but we couldn't just leave them. They told us they had a long hard life and everyone they met either stole from them or hurt them. I look to my left and read a sign. It says "Airon. Land of angels, spells and nightmares". That made me think... angels? spells?! NIGHTMARES?!?! Thats got to be a lie. I take a step on the near dead plains and life seems to return to a patch of grass around my foot. I jump up and it dies again. Ok... this got weird... I continue and i'm brought to my knees by a splitting headache. All I can hear is a soft voice speak to me "do not fear me child". Im surprised by how warm the voice made me feel. As if she was like my mother wrapping a warm hug around me. I look up and I see her. A woman with long blue hair, how strange, bright white battle skirt and big, dark blue eyes. " I am the goddess of light and I see you fit to be one of my angels" I feel a burn from my back then a cool rush as my back gets heavier. I look behind me and get hit in the face by feathers and bone. I scramble to my feet as I realize THOSE ARE MY FEATHERS. I'm pushed down to my knees by a huge force and struggle not to break under the pressure. "YOU LEAVE WHEN I LET YOU LEAVE". If you ask me that's not very light of her to do or say. Then again she is a goddess and must have seen me standing as disrespect. "Child you are more than a young man and even more than an angel". My eyes snap open. "W...What am I then?". She kneeled down and touched my face "that is for you to discover". She took three steps back and she was gone. Now I know that sign was no lie.
