Walking down stairs with a groan, she seats herself besides Nick.
"You feeling any better." He asks when she sits down.
"I have a killer hangover, and my body needs exercise." She says laying her head on the table when she feels him place tablets in her hand. Looking up at him in confusion, Hunter tilts her head to the side.
"Ibuprofen." He answers smiling tightly.
"Thanks." She says in shock, quickly downing the pills and eating avocado toast.
"I am heading to the beach with my friends to surf, I will see you all when I get back." He says standing up from the table, about to leave.
"Wait." She says following after him.
"Yes?" He asks.
"Can I come? I haven't been on the water lately with the move and stu-" Hunter says rambling.
"You can come, your new friends will be there." He says quickly walking outside.
"Yes!" She says excitedly running upstairs to get her stuff.
Driving to the beach, Hunter feels her phone vibrate.
"Hello?" She asks into the phone, not receiving an answer she hangs up confused.
"Everything alright?" Nick asks noticing her mood shift.
"Yeah, It was just a weird unknown number." She answers looking out the window realizing they arrived. Jumping out of the car excited as soon as he turns it off, Nick dies laughing.
"Woah, chill Gabi." He laughs getting out as well.
"Sorry, It has just been too long." She says as they walk up to the group of people they are meeting with.
"Hunter?" Anya says happy running up to her in a pink surf suit.
"Hey, Anya." Hunter says smiling returning the hug she is given not noticing Nick and Atlas talking heatedly as Atlas smirks.
The conversation...
"You brought the stepsister, never would have thought you to be into that." A boy by the name Veron says.
"Shut the hell up moron." Nick says walking off and Atlas following him.
"You are real defensive for someone who claims to not have a thing for her?" Atlas comments.
"Is that why you pushed her into me? Because you think I like her?" Nick asks getting angry.
'Am I that transparent?' he asks in his head.
"That is exactly why I did it, man you look like her the same way I look at Ev." Atlas says, his smirk turning into a soft smile.
"Oh shut the hell up." Nick says storming back over to the group.
"Denial, gotta love it." Atlas says back to smirking.
Back to the girls
"I love your surf suit." Ev says to Hunter.
"Thanks, your red one is beautiful." Hunter compliments her back.
"Am I chopped liver?" Anya asks making them roll their eyes.
"Of course yours is pretty, it is chanel." Ev says laughing.
"That is so much better, I appreciate the validation." Anya says laughing before noticing the boys changing behind them.
"Do they do this every time?" Hunter asks looking away.
"Yes they unfortunately do." Anya replies.
"Unfortunately? I am getting a great view from my boyfriend." Ev says staring Atlas down.
"Oh whatever." Anya jokes making all three of them laugh.
"Are we going to surf or just keep having girl talk?" Atlas asks as they all grab their boards.

"Your surfboard is beautiful." Ev compliments once Hunter picks it up.
"Where did you get it?" Jenna, a beautiful curly haired brunette asks.
"I painted it, it was just a normal white board before." Hunter explains with a smile.
"It's amazing." Nick says before he can stop himself, making him turn around and start talking to the boys again.
"Whoever can surf the biggest wave without crashing, they get $200." Lion, Jenna's boyfriend says.
"Deal." Everyone choruses before they hit the waves. The winner ends up being Hunter, with Nick being a close second.
"So your mom wasn't lying when she said you were good." Nick says as they sit on their boards out in the water as everyone else turned in.
"Even though I hate she bragged, no she wasn't. I have been surfing since I was 6." She explains.
"Do you have a surfing idol?" Nick asks curious.
"I do, it is Bethany Hamilton. Not only did she get back on the board after losing an arm, she beat a six time world champion also known as the top-ranked surfer in the world at that time." Hunter says with pride and awe speaking of the surfer.
"You sound like you look up to her." He notices.
"Really? I never would have thought." She says sarcastically making him push her into the water laughing as he jumps in too.
"Jerk." She says splashing him, making it turn into a water fight.

As they arrive back home she notices her room having differences than how she left it.
"Seriously, Noah? You went through my stuff." Hunter says storming into her sisters room.
"I was trying to see if you had anything to wear for tonight." Noah lies.
"For one, everywhere in my room was misplaces so don't lie to me. And for two what is tonight?" She asks.
"There is apparently a street race tonight." Noah says knowing how much her sister loves cars.
"Seriously?" A smile shoots on her face at the news.
"Yeah." Noah says smiling back at her.
"Then what the hell are we waiting for, let's get ready." Hunter says excitedly.
"Okay, okay." Noah says laughing at her sister shaking her.
Walking out of her room, she immediately calls Anya.
"Can you help me with finding clothes for the race tonight?" Hunter asks as soon as she answers.
"I was just about to call you about that, I have just the outfit. I will be there soon. Bye beautiful." Anya says.
"Bye." Hunter says smiling from ear to ear and then starts jumping on her bed.
