chapter five

Isis' pov:

"Why do you look like that?" Batya asked, stoping me in my tracks.

"Leave my presence" I said firmly watching her walk back to where she came out from

"You looked stressed"

"I'm incapable of being stressed and just so you know. Just because we were sent here on this mission doesn't mean you can talk to me"

"Why are you so difficult!" Her voice got louder than it's supposed to be, making me snap my head in her direction

"Yell one more time I dare you" I growled angrily, she cowered back putting her head down. "Nitwit"

"Your father called" she called out after me

What does he want now? I just got here, he shouldn't pressure me. it's bad enough he had to make Batya come along even though I am more than able of handling things by myself, I wouldn't hesitate to drop all this and go back to my island to enjoy my peace and quiet.

After all serenity was in charge the day the souls of those girls was interchanged. I'm only helping out because no one else is capable enough for this.

I let my clothes slid down my body before walking into the shower to scrub off whatever dirt those filthy humans might have left on me, when they were mindlessly walking through me.

In all my life, I've never had a case of having to come to the human world, I've only heard stories from the elders about how humans lived, although it was quite fascinating to all the younger generation of the soul order. I always thought about their way of life as barbaric and uncultured.

And to top all of that they're weak, fragile, unsophisticated and utterly brainless. My little stay here has just confirmed that my whole speculation about them was wrong, They were worse than I thought. ill mannered bunch of weaklings who derived some sort of pleasure in hurting the 'weaker' gender and the poor.

My orb was beeping continously making me sigh, I know who would be bold enough to call me repeatedly

My dad

I got out the shower wiped my body and stared a bit at myself on the mirror, the humans shame and belittle people like me, they even call it 'deformity' but actually it's unique. Knowing humans they only do that just because they are just mad because some 'weaker gender' comes with the same tools as socially acclaimed alpha gender.

My orb beeping again for the hundredth time stopped my train of thoughts. I put on my regal robe and stepped out of the bathroom.

"Father" I said immediately the call connected and as usual he's busy looking elsewhere.

"Oh Isis you finally answered" my face remained in it's usual stoic expression as I kept quiet waiting for him to continue but it seemed like he wanted me to say something, which is quite strange because he was calling non stop but now it appears as if he had nothing to say.

"Father you were calling?" He sighed scratching his scalp that was rid of hair before focusing back on me

"Word on the street is that, you've seen the lost soul?"

"By word on the street do you mean Batya? And yes I have found it and apparently it's more complicated than we thought"

"What do you mean?"

"For now father, i still don't know. but all I know is that Feliciana's soul is in body of Blueberry. Who is supposedly supposed to be dead, so I don't know what magic or 'voodoo' as the humans call it. Ion know how she did it but currently Blueberry is alive and functioning well"

"What?! How did that happen? Who let that happen?"

"You should ask your precious daughter Serenity how she let that happen. We'll soon be having the league of the order of the death at our gate, trying to shut the order of the souls down. Just because of this event! A dead person is supposed to stay dead so that the cycle of life can run smoothly! The order of birth will be going through major crisis just because of that resurrection." I finally said the thing that had been causing my stress lately

"Then we'll have to expel her soul from that body immediately"

"It seems like you're forgetting something father"

"What might that be?"

"In order to expel a trespassing soul out of a body, the soul of the original owner has to be in that body too and after that we take the life of the original owner. But in this case, Blueberry soul is completely lost. No evidence of it going through the system of the soul order, just nothing."

"This is actually a crisis! Why didn't you tell me sooner? I'll send all my best men out there to find Blueberry! This cannot be happening. I just got elected as chief of the soul order"

"You're seriously worried about your position right now? There's a possibility that the soul order won't be a thing anymore. If the death and the birth order place a complaint to the almighty. They'll instantly shut this down and everything we've grown to love would be wiped away and who knows what punishment the almighty might bestow on us? Making us lower rank orders? Or worse making us human and sending us to live in this disease infested place!"

"I will kill myself if ever I lose everything I've spend hundreds of years working on. I'll send the most skilled soul catchers to help find Blueberry you can't do it alone"

"Just make sure those people you send down here are responsible and know the matter on ground. I don't want to clean up anymore messes"

"Just make sure you do your best in bringing those souls back. I would be a failure to my ancestors if the soul order crumbled on my watch."

"The soul order is already crumbling as we speak, let's hope blueberry isn't in the wrong place and she's just wandering the earth"

"What do you mean by in the wrong place?"

"Being reborn without going through all the necessary procedures"

"That has never happened" then he gasped as if remembering the story we grew up listening to. "They've been procedures taken to make sure that it never happens again"

"The same procedures Serenity, threw away just because she had a bad day? I told you serenity was not fit for that job but you thought I was being jealous. Now the apocalypse is upon us. Our people would be slaughtered like animals again! It's bad enough that we're gradually getting extinct, But this? The death order will gladly take over this region. It has been their sole aim since they found out about the luxury and comfort we've made for ourselves." My father just bowed his head in Shame because he knew that all I was saying was the truth and deep down he knew serenity wasn't fit for the job.

"I'll ask around, I have friends in the birth order. I'll fix this, just make sure to monitor Feliciana until we find Blueberry" he muttered

"Okay, goodbye now father" after pressing the orb, I watched as the large screen disappeared before falling back on my bed.

Although my father said he'll find Blueberry, I know he's unable to do that. I'll have to help as usual but in all that I do. He still sees me as the black sheep just because I chose to follow my mother instead of staying and watch him rule the soul order into their doom.
