When he woke up somewhat late the next day he threw on his robe and headed to the kitchen. His roommates were sitting by the table laughing and writing something on a piece of paper.
"What are you doing?"

"Making a list." Liam informed him.

"What kind of list?" Louis asked as he walked over to the fridge to have a look.

"For you." Liam replied.

Right, that stupid flip a coin bet. Geez. Louis picked up the butter, ham, and cheese and closed the fridge. He walked over to the table and peeked at the list.
"Take out the trash, go grocery shopping? You're taking advantage."

"Don't look! That was just two things. We have to come up with 180 different options!" Niall said.

"Good luck with that." Louis snorted.

"We have fifty so far." Liam said.

They put their heads closer together and whispered while Louis made tea and toast. Hopefully, they would run out of ideas or grow tired of it. Fuck, he really hoped so!

After he had eaten he went to take a shower. When he came out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist Liam and Niall was waiting for him.
"Crap! You scared the shit out of me. Stop lurking."

They followed him to his room. Louis shook his head in half amusement half irritation and dropped the towel to get dressed.
"Why?" Niall whined and put his hands over his eyes.

"Suit yourself. I'm trying to get dressed but apparently you wanted to watch since you're both here." Louis sassed. He put on a pair of boxers before he turned around to glare at them.

"We have your first two options. You have to flip for it." Liam said.

Louis got dressed with an audience and found his pants from yesterday and fished the coin out of the pocket before he threw them in the laundry basket.
"So?"

"Go to the park or go to a museum." Niall said.

Both options sounded hella boring. Why did he give them this much power? He flipped the coin.
"Museum."

"Great! Where should we go? I've always wanted to check out the Jack The Ripper Museum but the Natural History Museum is a classic." Niall argued.

"Yeah, but what about...?" Liam began but Louis didn't let him finish.

He flipped the coin.
"Jack The Ripper."

"Wait, that wasn't meant to be a coin flip." Niall pouted.

"Now it is. I'll be ready in twenty." Louis said and shoved them out of his room.

Twenty minutes later he emerged and they headed to the subway. They got off at the right stop and walked the rest of the way to the museum. They paid for tickets and walked inside.

As they walked up the stairs they read the information about Jack The Ripper's nine victims.
"I for one hope you don't find your guy here. It's a bit creepy. He might be a serial killer looking for inspiration or something." Niall commented.

"We're here. Are you looking for inspiration, Nialler?" Louis questioned.

"What? No!" Niall protested.

"Exactly me point, mate." Louis smirked.

The Museum was interesting and they had a great time but Louis didn't see his soulmate. He had no idea what he looked like, obviously but he was certain that he would know who it was the second he met him. He couldn't explain it really.

The coin decided where they were having something between a lunch and a dinner and Niall was happy when it was Nandos.

They spent the evening at home and got up for work the next morning. When they ate breakfast together Liam looked at Louis.
"Ask for a raise or apply for another job."

"What? Neither are valid options!" Louis protested.

"You hate your job and they don't pay you enough. I would say they're both valid options. Flip!" Liam said.

"Alright, alright." Louis grunted and found the coin. He could just tell them to fuck off but then he would lose the bet and he never lost one so far.

He flipped the coin.
"Looks like I'm on the job hunt." He muttered.

He hurried to get to work. Liam was right. He hated his job as a tech support. He sat in his little cubicle answering calls from mostly rude people who didn't know how to turn on a computer.

He looked at job ads during his lunch. He didn't think that he would find something interesting but wised up when he read the last one, a safeguarding officer for Manchester United. There was no chance he would get the job but he would send in his application, honoring the bet with the guys.

He made sure that his CV and personal letter were updated before he sent them. He let himself daydream for a second about getting the job. He would love it. Working toward protecting players from physical, sexual, or emotional harm and from neglect or bullying. It was such an important task.

He joined his flatmates for dinner and told them about his job application. They were really excited for him and he had to remind them that he didn't stand a chance.
"You'll never know." Liam smiled.

He had to take the trash out after dinner, decided by a coin flip, and no surprise there. He didn't find his soulmate by the waste bins. He didn't find him on the jog around the neighborhood either later that evening. He silently cursed at his best friends while he tried to catch his breath. Exercising was so fucking boring. Of course, they had to make him flip for it but at least he didn't have to go to the gym which was the second option.

When he had gotten home, showered, and was about to sink his ass down on the couch Niall made him flip a coin again which lead him to the nearest gas station where he bought some ice cream. He was gonna make them pay. He was going to win this bet and come up with the worst possible payment he could think of, and yeah, his soulmate wasn't at the gas station either.
