Bond of Stone ~ A Loki x OC Story

Chapter 8

Loki and Rhi head out of the lab and back to her floor.

Rhi takes off her cardigan and places it on a chair in the kitchen before walking over to the living room area to sit on the couch. Loki keeps his suit on, but shifts back to himself.

"Ready to dive into your memories and get that spell?" She says as Loki makes his way over to sit as well.

"Sure." Loki extends his hands towards her. She takes a hold of them and combine their magic to enter Loki's mind.

Rhi's jaw drops as she finds herself in a beautifully massive library. She excitingly runs around to look at the different types of books as Loki watches her with a small smile on his face.

"This place is amazing!"

Loki chuckles. "Yes, it has quite the collection."

Rhi makes her way back to Loki. "Now that we're here, how do we get that spell?"

"I just need to find myself reading it. If I recall correctly I should be...there I am." Loki walks over to himself sitting at a desk reading a book and peaks over his shoulder. Rhi hangs back to give him some space as he memorizes the spell. Once he's done, he walks back over to her.

"All done?"

Loki nods his head in response. Rhi breaks the connection so now they're back in her living room. She gets up and walks over to the kitchen to grab some water. Loki gets up and follows her.

"Did you mean what you said back there?"

"Depends. What are you referring to?"

"That you...trust me?"

"Well, yeah."

"Why?"

She shrugs her shoulder. "You haven't given me a reason not to, yet."

"Yet." He chuckles to himself. "Just wait. I'm the God of Mischief and...a monster."

"I don't think you're a monster."

"That's because you've yet to see the real me." She looks at him confused. "You wouldn't understand."

"Then show me, so I can." She forms her magic around her finger tips and reaches towards his head, but he grabs her hand before she can touch him. "Please, Loki."

He releases her hand and she places it on his temple to enter his mind.

She finds herself standing knee deep in some snow when she sees Loki, Thor, and a few others walking past she follows behind. They reach a large wall made of ice and encounter giants with red eyes and icy blue skin.

During a fight that breaks out, one of the giants grabs Loki by the arm. When his arm starts to turn blue, Loki pulls away and stabs the giant.

The environment changes and now Rhi finds herself in a golden room. She finds Loki standing by a blue cube on a podium. He grabs a hold of it and his body changes to the same blue color as the giants from before. This time, his eyes turn red and markings form on his skin.

Loki breaks the connection and pulls away.

"When Thor said you were adopted, I thought he meant from another Asgardian family, not from...ice giants?"

"Frost giants, to be exact, from a place called Jotunheim. They're hideous, barbaric creatures. Monsters. Like the kind parents tells their children about at night...and I'm one of them."

Rhi saw the look hurt on his face like he was waiting for her to run off scared, so she takes a step closer to him but he takes a step back.

"Loki." She sighs. "You're not a monster just because you're a frost giant."
