A few weeks passed, and still no word was received of the Inquisitor's arrival... I was able to remain patient, for I knew that she had many tasks at hand, but it didn't help with my undying nerves. I wanted to hurry and get this over with. I wanted to discover the mystery behind the red lyrium, and see why it tainted those who touched it. I wanted to help, but most of all, I wanted to go back to Kirkwall. I yearned to have my companions at my side again, and go on pointless adventures together. To hear the swiftness of Varric's crossbow, and smell the venom of Isabela's newly sharpened daggers. I didn't realize how attached I had gotten to all of them. I needed to see them, but I restricted myself from contacting them. I needed to focus on the task at hand, and worry about other things later. Without the Inquisitor here to speed things along, my mind wandered to many things I wished it hadn't. Shudder. "I'll never be able to get that image of Sebastian out of my head." I muttered to myself.

I was dying to find an item to amuse myself with when suddenly, something caught my attention. As I was shifting through my things, I noticed an unopened letter. I knew it hadn't been there when I had packed my things last, and I had an undying butterfly in my stomach telling me exactly who it was from. Fenris. He was the only companion of mine that would be complicated enough to sneak into my tent and leave a letter, rather than confronting me face to face. Slowly I reached down and picked it up, shifting it back and forth between my hands for a moment or so. I lightly picked at the small wax seal, and lifted the top fold. Inside lay a small piece of paper covered in not-so-neat handwriting. I could recognize it anywhere, for I was the one who taught Fenris to read and write.

"Hawke. Meet me tonight at midnight." was all that was written. Below it was a small sloppy map with directions on how to reach his location. My heart rate spiked. I wasn't aware of what he needed, but at the moment I didn't care, all I knew was that I would be with Fenris again by tonight, and that was enough to make my heart soar. The rest of the day seemed to fly by quickly, and before I knew it I was walking up to the small wooden house in Fenris' map. Inside I could see a light that shone faintly through the doorway. As I went to knock on the small splintered door, it suddenly opened and I was quickly pulled inside. My eyes widened, and I nearly screamed before a hand was placed over my mouth. I could feel a hot breath against my face and quickly closed my eyes. And with that, I could hear his stifling laughter. I squinted my eyes a bit as I felt the hand pull away from my face. There he was, the gorgeous man who I had adored to see, struggling to contain his laughter.

"Maker's breath Hawke, your reaction was priceless! You look almost as pale as the lyrium in my veins!" He squealed.

"That wasn't funny!" I laughed, playfully hitting his shoulder, and doing my best to pout.

"You're right, you're right.." He said, more serious this time. "...It was hysterical!" He laughed joyfully. I crossed my arms, and turned my back towards him, letting out a loud "Hmph." His surprise seemed to have put me in a rather playful mood.

"Hawke." He said once his laughter had died down. I purposely pretended not to hear him.

"Hawwkee." He whined, louder this time. I continued to ignore him, until suddenly I felt his arms wrap around my waste from behind.

"Hawke," He whispered softly into my ear. His low raspy voice tickled against my neck. I could immediately feel my face become a bright scarlet color. I heard him chuckle slightly, before I wiggled out of his arms and covered my face with my hands.

"Fenris that's so embarrassing!" I whined, still shielding my rose-colored face.

"Well maybe you shouldn't have ignored me." He laughed.

"Well maybe you shouldn't have scared the living daylights out of me!" I laughed back. We sat there smiling silently for a moment.

"So what did you need to meet me for anyhow?" I asked, changing the topic. With his playful mood it didn't seem that his need was urgent.
