chpt. 12

It's last period now and I was planning out how I should approach Christopher, if I even manage to find him. He probably has soccer practice after school, I could speak to him just before he plays...

So it was settled, after school I'll go to the field and speak to Christopher and confess, how much I like him, how he makes me feel, everything...

The bell rang indicating school had just ended, I quickly make my way to the fields to find Christopher. As I was hurrying I didn't fully take in my surroundings causing me to crash into someone.

"Shit, I am so sorry.... I was in a rush and I-" I say scrambling to find the words to say, I didn't take a look to see who it was, I just wanted to get out of there and find Chris.

"It's alright, Thea..." The boy replied

Thea? Nobody but my friends call me Thea. I look up and had I not realize,

It was Conan.

"CONAN" I pull him in for an embrace, I was acting as if he just came back from war... But I truly did miss him.

He laughs pulling me closer to him.

"I missed you" Conan said softly

I looked him in the eyes and smiled even brighter than I originally did. I pull away from the embrace and playfully hit him on the arm.

"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? YOU'RE DRY ON TEXTS, YOU DON'T EAT WITH US ANYMORE, AND YOU STOPPED HANGING OUT WITH ME." I say crossing my arms in a semi-angry manner.

"Well, I've been busy... You have no idea, I've been dealing with something and I honestly don't know how to feel or know what to do." Conan replies not looking at me one bit.

What could possibly be going on in his life that made him isolate himself?

"If you're comfortable, can I know what's going on? You know I'm here for you Conan... Always." Trying to Console him, I say.

He inhales and exhales. "Thea, I think... I'm in love with you." He still doesn't look at me at all; instead, he glances down at the floor, finding comfort in the tiles.

I look directly at him, my eyes widen to their maximum size. "Conan... I... I don't know what to say.." I'm at a complete loss for words, unsure on what to do. One wrong move and I could lose my best friend forever...

But how could I respond? I'm in love with Christopher, I have been since year 1, Conan knew this.

He eventually looks up, but still not giving direct eye contact. He sputters. "It's fine Celestia, I shouldn't have unloaded all this information to you." He left before I could even respond or comfort him.

I'm still motionless; I was unable to move. I still haven't cleared things with Chris and my best friend had just confess to me. What am I supposed to do now?

Finally gaining the strength to move, instead of going up to Chris. I just make my way home, this was all too much.
