It was a usual Friday night for the citizens of Konoha. The men populating the city could be found in bars and pubs celebrating the end of a long week and grieving the coming start of another, the women; at home awaiting the arrival of the drunken fathers to their restless children, and finally, the irresponsible teenagers found any and everywhere but home.

To most, the word home was accompanied by a worried set of parents waiting anxiously for their oldest child to come home safe, a sibling or two waiting for their big brother or sister to chase the monsters away, and a plate of home-cooked dinner kept warm by a loving mother to fill the belly of her rebellious teen who's just 'going through a phase'

But for Naruto, all that awaited her was that big empty house. A house void of her warm, loving mother; a kind and hardworking father, and that warm plate of home-cooked dinner to fill her belly.

Instead, the only set of "parents" that worried for her were her godparents who lived countries away, her "sibling", given to her by the school through a mentor program for a thirty percent project grade, didn't need her as he had an older brother of his own, and what kept her belly warm and full, you ask? Booze. Any booze strong enough to keep her thoughts at bay. Well that and the cock of her childhood friend, but we'll dive into that a little later.

Naruto had lost her parents; her family, to a suicidal driver that couldn't go out alone. That was seven years ago, she had been ten at the time, in fact, the 'kamikaze driver', as she liked to call him, had stolen her happiness three days after she blew out the ten candles on the last birthday cake her mother ever made her. Two days after her father told her of their surprise. One day after they had kissed her bye to go get her surprise. Then, in an instant, they were gone.

She could recall every detail of the dreadful day that had shattered her word.

Something was wrong, she could feel it. The sickening feeling of dread had wracked its way through her every pore and settled into her bones, the sound of glass shattering in the stairwell stirred her heart and squeezed it tight as to brace her for the heartbreak ahead. The sound startled her godparents, Jiraiya and Tsunade, who came rushing down the hall. The sound had originated from a framed photo of the family, that had been hung above the stairwell, it now lay face down at the bottom of the staircase surrounded by shattered glass. The sight of the cracked glass above her parent's smiling faces had made her blood run cold.

Then came the call. The loud ringing of the landline had shaken the walls screaming of coming sorrows and humming tunes of despair.

"Namikaze residence, Senju Jiraiya speaking"

"Yes they are due home in an hour or so if you'd like to-"

"Y-yes, she's home...we'll be right there" She watched as her godfather's shaky hand slam the receiver back in place before turning to Tsunade and muttering quietly to his wife. Her once rosy complexion had paled within seconds at her husband's words before calling weakly to the small blonde.

"Naru..." It was no louder than a whisper but the young blonde knew to come quickly at the grave tone.

"We...we're-"

"We're going for a drive Naru, go grab your coat" Her godfather cut in as his wife choked on the words.

The car ride was silent, apart from the occasional sniffling or choked sob from the couple in the front. Naruto couldn't stand the silence of the car ride being the kind, loving child she was, the silence was eating at her, and she couldn't bear the tension bearing down on her from the elder pair.
