In the previous chapter:

Before he could speak, Hoseok clenched his jaw stepping away towards the door and giving him a short bow.

"I'm sorry Mr. Kim, I tend to forget that my relationship with you is purely business. Stupid me for thinking that you were my friend. I apologise, it won't happen again. Oh, and just for clarification, you aren't my boss. The CEO of the agency is. Anyways, I'll be waiting for you in the car, please have your breakfast and then we can leave."

Jin heard how Hoseok's voice broke at the end, he saw how his eyes were glossed over when he gave him one last look before turning around, and he also saw how Hoseok tried to discreetly wipe the corner of his eyes when walking out the door.

Jin was devastated. He had hurt his best and only friend who has always tried his best to look after him, and always been there for him.

Jin's POV:

"Mom... dad... p-please believe me. I di-didn't do anything." I sobbed.

"SHUT UP! HOW MUCH WILL YOU LIE?" Mom screamed, tears streaming down her cheeks.

"Mo-mom pl-please... pl-please believe me I never wanted to hurt-"

"STOP IT! EVEN AFTER ALL THE THINGS WE SAW... do you think we'll believe your lies? Are you really my son? why have you suddenly started acting like this? How can you hate your brother so much that you want to kill him? He's just an innocent child who can't defend himself! how could you-"

I cut off dad's words and shouted.

"WHY? WHY DO YOU BOTH NEVER BELIEVE ME?! I'M TELLING YOU I DIDN'T DO IT! I'M YOUR CHILD TOO! I'M NOT ABLE TO DEFEND MYSELF HERE EITHER, BECAUSE YOU NEVER WANT TO LISTEN TO ME! OR CARE ABOUT ME. IT'S ALWAYS ABOUT HIM! IS THE BABY SICK? IS THE BABY HURT? IS THE BABY SLEEPING? DID THE BABY EAT? IT'S ALWAYS ONLY HIM! HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN ABOUT ME? I'M YOUR REA-"

*SLAP*

My dad slapped me, causing my head to turn at the impact. I felt my cheeks burn with pain.

"I knew it! I knew you hated him. That's why you kept doing these things. But I never thought you would stoop so low. I'm ashamed to call you my son."

"D...dad I do-don't hate-"

"Shut up! I've heard enough and given you enough chances. This was the last straw, Jin. Go and pack your bags." Mom stated.

"W-what? Mo-mom pl-please I'm sorry I-I won't raise-"

"I SAID GO! RIGHT NOW! I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ANOTHER WORD FROM YOUR MOUTH."

Suddenly, cries filled the room and in an instant, mom and dad were beside my baby brother cradling him and comforting him.

While I stood at the door of the room, staring at them. Four red lines on my cheek, broken heart and tears falling down uncontrollably.

I was sitting alone in my high school playground. It was break time, but I didn't feel like eating, so I sat under a tree, spacing out.

"Hey, I'm Hoseok.. do you wanna be my friend?" I heard a voice, and turned my head to see a smiley boy with a hat. His hand was outstretched to me.

"Sorry?" I asked looking at him wide eyed.

"I said that I wanna be your friend, Jin" he repeated.

"D..do you know who I am? I am Kim Seokjin who got transferred last year mid-semester...you still wanna be my friend?"

"Of course... I think you are a really nice person; I trust you and I don't believe in those bullshit rumours. So be my friend...Kim Seokjin" he said giving me a dimpled smile.

"I would love to" I said, shaking his hand with teary eyes.

He trusted me.

I shot up from my bed, with tears flowing down my cheeks.

"I should apologise to Hobi."
