I'm here in my room. It's Saturday so I can lay here all day. Saturday is when I always rest. Just one day. I paint, read, learn how to cook or just sleep.
I'm busy reading when I heard my door open.
"Hija, ipinapabigay ng mommy mo. Ito na raw yung libro na nais mo." nanny Tiana said. I thanked her before telling her that she can go.
"Nice." I said as soon as I unboxed it.
I wonder if I tell them to buy me the latest MacBook and iPad. Well, I want it and I definitely need to get it.
Lumabas ako ng room ko and went to my parents office here sa bahay. It's Saturday so dito lang sila sa bahay, working.
"I want the latest MacBook and iPad." I said at umupo sa single couch tapat ng mini table.
"When do you want it, hon?" dad asked, still his eyes were still on laptop, reading.
"Later, afternoon." I answered.
"Hmm, 'kay. You can go now. You'll have it. I'll just call my secretary." my mom said. Umalis na rin ako doon.
The atmosphere inside their damn office is suffocating. Of course it is suffocating, we just fought last time and I'm asking for something now.
Well, what Clara wants, Clara gets.
Kinda sounds like villain but as their only child na nandito sa bahay, I'd rather spend their money, not because we have lots of it, it is because I am their responsibility in here also their attention is always in our business... well not mom since sometimes we do bonding but most of the time all they do is work, work, work.
"The school will be having a competition. It's a Science competition and students are invited to participate in the contest. " our science teacher announced. I raised my hand.
" Yes Ms. Clamonte?"
"can I ask po? where can I sign up, miss?" I asked her.
" Oh yeah. For those who wants to participate you can go in the Faculty building and look for Mrs. Tanyag and tell her that you want to join. " she dismissed us since 5 minutes nalang at time na.
Recess and I went to the faculty building and there a saw Gaia Talking to Mrs. Tanyag. What is she doing here? Is she related to Mrs. Tanyag or something?
"Oh hi, Ms. Clamonte. What's your sadya?" Mrs. Tanyag asked me when she saw me. I smiled while approaching them.
"Good Morning, Mrs Tanyag. I would like to participate in the upcoming Science competition. Is there still available spot for me? If ever there is none I would like to pull some strings. " I said. Not minding the one beside me.
" Oh you're lucky there's still 2 spots, sakto sa inyo ni Gaia." she happily said. " You don't have to pull strings, hija. I always know that when it comes to this kind of competition you're always in, don't worry." she excused herself because she needs to go to the conference room because they'll be having a meeting with the founders of the school.
" So you pull strings just to get in competitions? " Gaia asked.
"I do pull strings. I use my connections. I use my sure name and money but when it comes to academics I'll do everything without those so whatever is in your mind right now, I'm not that kind of shit. " I answered her and then left her there, speechless.
"How dare she think that I had my tittles and awards because I have money and fame? She has no idea how much I sacrifice everything just to get this far. She has no idea kung ano ang narinig at nararamdaman ko kapag natatalo o pumapangalawa ako sa mga kompetisyong sinasalihan ko, so how dare she say that I pull strings just to get to the top? That bitch!" I murmur while killing her in my mind.
Today is the day kung kelan ang kompetisyon. Am I nervous? No. Why would I be nervous? They should be the one feel that, not me.
The competition is kind of hard but for me it just just like a piece of cake.
Maraming students na rin ang nawala at tanging kami na lang ni Gaia ang natitira. I can't let her win.
"Wow! This is intense. Ms. Clamonte and Ms. Britzy both from star section." the teacher said and laughed. Gaia looked at me and smiled but I just ignore her and focus on the competition.
"And now our category is about Digestive system. This one is easy wow."
Digestive system? Are they kidding me? Tsk.
"For our question number 1, what is the role of the mouth in our digestive system? Ready, 3,2,1 go!"
I tap the button first so I pick up the mic and answer.
"Mouth. The digestive process starts in your mouth when you chew. Your salivary glands make saliva, a digestive juice, which moistens food so it moves more easily through your esophagus into your stomach. Saliva also has an enzyme that begins to break down starches in your food."
" That's right! Next question, what does our large intestine do? "
I was about to tap the button when Gaia tapped it first.
"The purpose of the large intestine is to absorb water and salts from the material that has not been digested as food, and get rid of any waste products left over, sir." Gaia answered and then smiled.
The competition goes on and on.
"And for our last question, what does pancreas do?"
I tapped the button first. I smirked because of it." pancreas makes pancreatic juices called enzymes. These enzymes break down sugars, fats, and starches. Your pancreas also helps your digestive system by making hormones." I answered.
" That is right. Now our winner is Miss Clara Raia Clamonte. Let's give her a around of applause!"
They gave me certificates and trophy. Tsk I have lots of this but for my father's validation I'll do it over and over again.
And about that Gaia I have to be cautious. I need to be greater than her. Now I'm thinking if I should accept her as a Fri or treat her as my enemy. I can't be a loser.
