THE ISLANDERS SAT in their couples around the fire pit. Leah and Isabella sat at the far end, arms intertwined as they are both single. The group sat quietly, waiting for the phone to ring. Mitchel's beeped first.
"Islanders, tonight there will be a re-coupling where the boys will pick the girls they want to couple up with. The two girls not picked will be left single and vulnerable." Isabella's faced dropped. "Girls, please stand in front of the fire pit."
All eight of the girls walked to the front of the fire pit and faced the boys. Some of the girls were visibly shaking, while others maintained a stony expression. Isabella's phone beeped, causing her to jump.
"Leah and Isabella as the two new girls, before the boys make any decisions, you will choose who you would like to couple up with first." the two bombshells gave each other look, this was unexpected.
Leah went first, "I'd like to couple up with this boy because in the short space of time since I've been here. I've really enjoyed getting to know him. I feel like since I've been here, this boy hasn't really had that chance to open up yet, but I feel after a few more conversations we might be able to build a good connection. So, the boy that I would like to come with is,"
"Tyrique."
Isabella's turn has come. She stood up straight and took a breather, unaware she only had 24 hours to get to know everyone. She would have worked more if she had known she had to make such a quick decision.
"I would like to couple up with this boy because all day I've found myself being drawn to him, I think there's potential for a connection to grow and I want to give it a chance. I understand I'm breaking up a couple by doing this but I'm here to take risks and that's what I'm going to do now, so the boy I'd like to couple up with is..."
"Sammy."
As Isabella came up to sit near Sammy, the girls who remained standing exchanged glances. Sammy gave her a short smile once she sat down, and just as Tyrique done with Leah, he didn't put his arm around the female.
The recoupling continued, and Medhi chose to couple up with Whitney after their fantastic date that day. And André made the decision to select Catherine. Mitchell was the next to stand up.
