Third person POV
After the chaos the palace has this weird silence as everyone is deep in there thoughs.
In the opulent study of the royal palace, Prince Liam stood before his father, William, his heart heavy with conflict. The air was thick with tension as the king paced back and forth, his brow furrowed with determination."Liam, my son," William began, his voice a commanding presence in the room. "It is time for you to fulfill your duty to our family and our kingdom."
Liam clenched his fists at his sides, his jaw set in defiance. "And what duty would that be, father?" he retorted, his tone tinged with resentment.
He fixed Liam with a stern gaze, his eyes flashing with intensity. "You know exactly what I'm talking about," he replied, his voice cold and unwavering. "Princess Sallie's return threatens everything we have worked so hard to achieve. It is imperative that we stop her from reclaiming the throne."
Liam's heart sank at his father's words, the weight of his expectations bearing down upon him like a heavy yoke. "But father," he protested, his voice tinged with desperation, "Sallie is family. I cannot betray her in such a manner."
William's expression hardened at Liam's defiance, his patience wearing thin. "Family or not, Liam, this is not a matter of sentimentality," he declared, his voice booming with authority. "It is a matter of survival. If you wish to secure your future as a king, you will do as I say."
Liam's resolve wavered in the face of his father's unwavering determination, but he could not bring himself to betray the cousin and he could not bear to upset his father he held dear. "Ok father," he whispered, his voice barely above a breath. "I will try my best."
With those words, Liam turned and strode out of the room, leaving his father to stew in his own frustration. Though the weight of his decision hung heavy upon his shoulders, Liam knew in his heart that he could not betray his principles for the sake of power and ambition. He has to think of a way to help Sallie.
Outside the study.
CHLOE POV:
As Chloe retreated to her chambers, her mind buzzed with a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions. The encounter with Liam had left her feeling unsettled and confused, unsure of where they stood and what his true intentions were. She couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to the story than Liam was letting on.
Lost in her thoughts, Chloe mulled over the implications of what she had overheard. Liam agreeing with his father's demands didn't sit right with her, and she couldn't help but feel a pang of disappointment at the thought that he would betray Sallie in such a manner.
But as she replayed the conversation in her mind, Chloe couldn't shake the nagging feeling that there was more to the story than met the eye. Perhaps Liam had a plan—a way to help Sallie without defying his father outright. She had to believe that there was still hope, that Liam's loyalty to Sallie ran deeper than his outward actions suggested.
Determined to uncover the truth, Chloe resolved to find a way to inform Sallie of the situation. She couldn't let her friend walk blindly into a trap, not when there was still a chance to save her from the betrayal that loomed on the horizon.
With renewed determination, Chloe set to work, plotting her next move with the same steely resolve that had always guided her. She may not have all the answers yet, but she was determined to uncover the truth and protect those she cared about, no matter the cost.
As Chloe sat in her chambers, her mind racing with thoughts of how to inform Princess Sallie of the impending betrayal, she realized that direct communication might be too risky. If anyone intercepted their conversation, it could put both Sallie and Chloe in danger.
