It had been a while since we had escaped those creatures... again. We had pushed ourselves to the limit, seeking refuge in the dense forest with its towering trees and tangled undergrowth. Finally, we found ourselves in a small clearing, a brief respite from the chaos. Gasping for breath, I dropped to the ground, feeling the burning sensation in my lungs gradually subside. The rustling leaves and gentle whispers of the wind brought a temporary silence, providing a moment of silence.

A surge of relief washed over me, and I couldn't help but let out a long exhale. For now, we had managed to evade capture, but we both knew that we weren't out of danger yet. We had to keep moving. Glancing over at Mariana, I saw her leaning against a tree, her head hanging low as she caught her breath. She briefly looked at me before returning her gaze to the ground.

"If... if I had known they could sniff us out that fast, I would have never risked it," I blurted out, still trying to catch my breath.

"Agreed," she replied, her voice heavy with exhaustion, her gaze fixed on the grass.

Guilt washed over me as I realized the weight of my decisions. I looked up to the sky, seeking comfort, but only to realize that the sun had already settled and the full moon illuminated the darkness. damn.. We needed to find shelter soon, if only i had something to help- Oh wait! my bag!

I quickly removed it from my back and placed it on the ground, opening it to take inventory of what we had. It wasn't much, but it was something to work with. We might be able to start a campfire if we were lucky. However, before I could take action, the blaring sirens of approaching police cars pierced the air. We had to keep moving. I sprang to my feet and faced Mariana.

"Mari... we have to keep going. They'll be here soon," I urged,

"Dammit... Why can't they just give up?" she exclaimed, her voice trembling with a mixture of anger and fear. I walked over to her, placing my hand on her shoulder, trying to calm her down. "Keep your voice down! They could have heard you," I whispered urgently. She shot me a hard glare over her shoulder, but her expression softened after a moment. "...Whatever. Let's just go," she replied. She got off the tree and started walking forward, and I followed suit.

don't get me wrong i fully understand her frustration but i also know that we couldn't afford to waste time. Those creatures could emerge from the foliage at any moment. I quickly packed up my bag, making sure everything was secure, and slung it back over my shoulder. The sound of the sirens grew louder, urging us to move faster.

We pressed on through the forest, our steps quiet and deliberate. The ground beneath us was covered in rustling branches and leaves as we navigated the uneven terrain. it felt like time was blurring as we pushed forward, our bodies growing weary. i tried to distract myself by looking at the stars to pass the time but all i could think about is the uncertainties. like what were we going to do next? We had no plan, no clear path to safety. Hell, we didn't even know where we are right now! The weight of our situation pressed upon me, fueling a sense of hopelessness .

We had been walking for what felt like 2 hours, and the absence of sirens made me think we had managed to outrun our pursuers. Still, we couldn't afford to slow down, its our only chance to stay one step ahead of those creatures. I notice that now we were walking side by side but i didn't pay her no mind as I continued to gaze up at the stars. suddenly, Mariana broke the silence, her voice filled with uncertainty

"Hey tenn i have a question about this situation that we are in" Mariana said,

"Sure, What up?" i asked unsure of her intentions.
