(Hi 💗welcome here)

The silence was deadly cold. Everyone was captivated by the sound of this slap and people were so focused on it that it looked as if there was only this, this and that hand and that head turned. Everyone knew the Prince, everyone knew who he was, everyone knew for Big. No one knew how it could have been handled or if she did the right things.

A satisfaction was still spreading in all of their bodies, even if they might all be dead soon, at least they would have witnessed one of them being avenged. He was one of them. Big who didn’t have any problems was one of them. It was the difference between monsters and humans. Humans would reject anyone not looking enough like them. Monsters would know what it felt like to be rejected and wouldn't do it to someone looking like humans, bringing from them more humanity than any humans could have shared.

Big was the little child and the little miracle of that woman, who also didn’t have any problems. She just looked more hurt and had more kindness than any other woman. Kim knew that she began to take care of them because she hadn't anyone anymore. She was rejected too, for having a child out of any official relationship. She was smashed against the ground by the villager but she was helped by those people she also was scared at first. Proof that it wasn’t always a necessity or logical for humans to love. They needed to learn it too when it appeared that the world didn’t only turn on themselves.

Though Kim's cheek was red and their blood might be spreading soon. They knew how it worked, if the monsters were attacking the humans, humans would always win. The woman suddenly squatted down to the ground, her head against it, her voice was shaking but they could hear how determined she was and how she didn’t regret anything.

"Prince as a mother I needed to do this! But as your subject I am ashamed ! And will accept every punishment! But make it only for myself, I am the one who decided alone to do it!"

Porchay was astonished by what he just saw and heard. He could find in those words the little tears she wouldn’t let out. He could hear her breath waiting to be condemned and her grief. She was mourning her child for less than a month and the one who acted for his death was in front of her.

Anyone could say everything, Kim knew how it would end for Big. Porchay got a reflex, his logical reflex. He tried to reach her, to tell her that it was okay, Kim whatever if he was a Prince did it. It shouldn’t end with a punishment, he understood his pain. He wanted to share his own humanity but Kim anticipated his move, took his wrist in his own and dragged him behind him.

"Stand up." He said calmly, making her move. "I understand. It wasn’t the Prince, I was the little child who came to play here in your eyes. No punishment is happening."

The woman smiled ironically at him. They both knew that he was expecting this and she was also expecting this, she wasn’t sure about how Kim grew up, therefore she reacted as if they didn’t know each other.

She was as always the most careful woman, who could help out the dropouts of society. Her eyes moved to Porchay who was looking at his wrist, already as red as Kim's cheek. She came to him and looked extremely emotional.

"Did my child protect you well and is he still keeping you warm?" She said with a kind smile and it hit Porchay that he was wearing Big's coat. He was wearing the dead son's coat in front of his mother. His heart ached, he had almost forgotten with all they went through that what was keeping himself alive was the fake skin of someone whose blood was dripping out of his body because of them.
