"Oh Ember this is gorgeous!" the long blond haired fae exclaims as she looks at her blue loose fitting dress in the mirror. Its a light soft blue that makes her deep navy eyes pop, around the very bottom of the dress I had sewn in shimmering stones. I was crouched down behind her with sewing needles hanging out of my mouth fitting the dress to her form. My long red hair was messy thrown into a pony tail. I'm wearing a loose tunic and black pants, i also have a pincushion hanging to the side of my wrist. I look up at her and smile "I'm so glad you like it" I stand up and walk over to a table and pick up the lace masquerade mask that had the same hue of light blue on her dress and had the same shimmering stones around the eye holes. I walk over and put it in her hands to show her. "This is your mask to match  the dress it'll be in the box when I'm finished with these last touches" I smile sweetly at her and she takes me by the hand "You really should go! Your the one who's designing most of the dresses and costumes anyway!" I chuckle nervously knowing I shouldn't be touching her and I move my hand out of the way and take a step back. I look down to the ground and put my hands behind my back knowing my place "We both know why that can't happen your highness"

The lightness in her face died down as she remembered what she was and knew that her interaction with me, who has worked for her for years, could get me into deep dangerous trouble. She takes a deep breath and looks back at me and smiles "Please excuse my excitement Ember. I...forgot my place" I nod and lead her to the changing room. "There's no need to apologize your highness please change out of the dress and ill finish it up today and it should be ready for pick up tomorrow." I bow before she enters the changing room a sadness in her eyes. A few minutes pass and she exits the small room with a soft blue simple dress that has the water fae royalty symbol on the shoulder. She hands me the unfinished gown "Thank you Ember, I'll have my servant who is picking it up pay you as well tomorrow" I nod as I take the gown inspecting the seems for any holes or tears "yes your highness thank you for coming in for fittings". As she takes her leave she slides into a carriage with her Selkie servant following close behind her.

I prop my shop door open with a rock and go sit on my chair that's not far from the door. I take my needle and thread and finish the final touches the Princess's gown. It's quiet and all i hear is my small pocket watch ticking, birds cawing outside, and people bustling back and fourth. My shop is a small one hiding in the town square. My customer's normally consist of higher beings due to me being one of the best and one of the few seamstress's. Not many look for the work of a human but I do the best I can. I need only take care of myself my mother and father passed when I was little. As a lower being I need to find a way to get to normal survival, my life isn't extravagant and it never can be but I'm content with that. It's been this way for my kind for years. I hear wings flap into my shop and a caw, at first I think another bird has flown into my shop and got stuck. I sigh and stand up grabbing my broom but I stop. I'm met with a raven standing at the edge of my door. He holds a scroll in his beak with a red Dragon Shifter symbol on it. "what in the-..." I whisper to myself as I crouch down reaching for the scroll cautiously. The Raven lets me grab it and he tilts his head toward me. I reach over and scratch it softly.

I unravel the scroll and see a letter from the Dragon shifter prince himself. I sit back as I read the smooth cursive. My eyes widen in shock and I look down at the raven "Why dose he want me to make him a suit for the masquerade? The dragon shifters never come to lower beings for things like this" I ask the black bird in confusion. It looks at me and turns its head in confusion at me again "Believe me I'm just as confused as you...but I guess I don't really have a choice do I?" I say as I read over the scroll again. I scratch its head once more "be safe on the fly home" It bows its head as it leaves my shop flying off into the distance. I watch it as it goes missing the small company and joy it brought me. I take a deep breath and turn around as I glaze over the scroll for the third time. He gave me all of his exact measurement's and what he wants and he demands it be done in two days. I look around at my shop at all the unfinished pieces that were ordered and need to be finished very soon. Looks like it's gonna be another all nighter...
