firstly i'd like to thank whoever read/voted/added home to their reading list, i really appreciate you! <3
i haven't updated this in ages and i'm sorry! there are a few reasons for this; i truly do love this story but i think i gave myself writers block by trying to [at least from my perspective] closely stick to season one.
in fanfics i think i prefer to have the overarching plot themes but go in a generally different direction [no more lady whistledown letters maybe haha]. it allows me more creative freedom and i write better/more quickly. there are also a few characters i've struggled to introduce in a way that i'm happy with which means i might have to consider changing the plot slightly to continue but i'll update you!
i consider this story extremely slow updates/on hold for a while, until i get rid of writers block for home! hopefully i'll have more positive news soon for you!

the 1817 season has officially begunand queen charlotte looks forward to welcoming her only grandchild, the daughter of her eldest son, princess georgiana as she returns to the ton.
nestled away in versailles unpopular at her court, failing catastrophically to produce an heir andresentedby her husband, future king of france, the sole heir to the british throne eagerly awaits the summer. adored by both her grandmama and grandpapa, georgiana is allowed to visit london for four months of the year at the height of the season as agreed in her marriage contract.
divorce has been forbidden and how to save her marriage is the main topic of the royal household. however, it is a comfort to the young dauphine that there are perhaps a few marriages that are similarly struggling and the ton begins to advise the young princess on her precarious situation. the duke of hastings quickly proves to be one of those members of the ton and becomes a much needed comfort in the dauphine's time of distress.
innocent companionship morphs into a deep obsession for the future queen of france and the duke of hastings and they test the limits of the english and french aristocracy, their marriages and what they will do for one another, irrespective of the consequences that await them.
