Nop is waiting for her when she gets home.

"Who's jacket is that?" He asked, his eyes scanning over the expensive piece of clothing.

"Lady Sam's," Mon says. "She gave it to me because I had forgotten mine."

Nop laughs. "She must want something from you."

"What?"

Mon did not mean to but she took great offense to that statement. Some part of her felt protective over Sam.

"Did she approve of your idea too?" Nop asks as if he was about to uncover a grand conspiracy.

Mon nods. "She did. Why does that matter?"

She was having such a wonderful night.

Nop and Mon stare at each other in silent for a few seconds. She walks away from Nop entering the small apartment building in front of her.

She does not look back as she starts to head up the stairs to the apartment. The evaluator had broken weeks ago, and the heating did not work. It was cold nights like these that made her regret moving out of her parents' house so soon.

Mon sits all of her things down, she gets ready for bed and is just about to lay down when she hears her phone ringing.

She answers the call. "Hello?"

"Have you gotten home yet?"

It's Sam. She had forgotten to text her.

"Uh," Mon pauses. "Yes?

She hears Sam scoff over the phone. "Yes? You sound confused."

"I've gotten home, Lady Sam." Mon says.

"Then why are you up talking to me," Sam says. "You should be in bed. We have a busy day tomorrow."

Mon sighs.

This woman is impossible.

"Good night, Lady Sam."

Her can hear Sam mumbling something to herself. "Good night, Mon."

After Sam says that the line goes dead.

She looks down at her wrist and notices that her soulmate mark is still yellow.

Her soulmate is still happy.

Mon falls asleep with a smile on her face.

When Mon shows up to work the next morning, she notices how tense the atromspehre is already tense to say the least.

"Mon," Yah says approaching her. "Lady Boss is in a bad mood."

"Why?" Mon asks with furrowed eyebrows.

"Mr. Kirk wants to partner with an event company," Yah says.

"Why's that a bad thing?"

Yah shrugs.

Mon doesn't know why but she decides to knock on Sam's door.

Sam did say that Mon had to report to her everyday. She's only knocking on the door because she wants to work.

Not because she wants to check on her.

"Come in," Sam says. She sounds annoyed.

Mon opens the door and looks at Sam. "Are you okay, Lady Sam?"

She doesn't know why she asks that.

She was here for work, right?

They're not friends.
