Chapter 6

"I can't believe school was so fun!" Persperphone slumped into her bed as she waited for Seclinette to finish feeding Kameko with the academy's specially-grown house leek, making Kameko chew its leaves in delight.

"Mirage is a cool person," Seclinette tilted her head towards Persperphone and smiled.

"I disagree! She acts like a hothead!" Persperphone argued as though she was in a debate. Standing up, she went to their desks and patted Kameko.

Seclinette said nothing, and after the house leek was fully gone, she took out her notebook and started writing.

I just hope mum is doing fine, Seclinette wrote, I had written a letter to her about the happenings I had today, plus I made a new friend, Mirage. Persperphone thinks she is haughty and not friendly, but I think Mirage can be kind sometimes.

With a full stop implanted beside the last word, Seclinette placed her pen down and yawned, stretching her arm straight into the sky.

"Getting sleepy already huh?" Persperphone noticed before going back to her bed and laid down. Seclinette shrugged her shoulders and replied, "Its still early at night, about nine."

Taking a glance at the clock decorated neatly above the door on the wall, Persperphone agreed, "True, but I feel tired, besides I just need a break. Math homework's due the day after tomorrow."

"I know," Seclinette said, "and I already did half of it, so that I won't have much work to do."

"Hey no fair! I thought we promised to do it together!"

"Too bad, I didn't say 'yes', I only said okay."

"Well friend, I think we can just go sleep now. Goodnight! Hmpf!" And with that, Persperphone tilted herself away from Seclinette.

"If you say so. Night Pers." Seclinette switched off the lights before going to the desk.

"Night Kameko, sleep well."

"Mee~!" The cute tortoise answered back before snuggling in its cozy pillow.

"Good morning girls! How was the first day of school?" The headmistress asked as she tilted her head a little to the left.

"It was fun Mrs. Ashlina!" Persperphone stretched her hands out like a kid would do.

"I'm glad you liked it girls! Quickly go and have your breakfast, we are going to have an assembly in about an hour!" Mrs. Ashlina waved before scurrying to the other corner.

As the girls walked to the large canteen, they had to pass by many long white tables with utensils before turning into an aisle and sat with Mirage, who was drinking iced lemon tea.

"So, how's yesterday huh?" Mirage placed her glass down, looking at the girls sitting down.

"It was sure good for us," Seclinette replied, "I sure enjoyed the classes."

"I'm sure you meant excluding the history class that has Mrs. Anahella rampaging with laughter," Mirage joked, snorting once before sipping her drink.

"Hmpf," Persperphone lowered her head before suddenly taking over the short conversation. "Seclinette, we haven't take our meals yet."

"Oh right, I forgot hehe, let's go!" Seclinette stood up, and as soon as she stood, Persperphone grabbed her hand and ran to the counter.

Mirage just shook her head and drank her tea when Katlyn and Liana arrived with their food and drinks on silver-polished food trays.
