Apparently, Mickey has being doing so much in searching for more clues as to what is going on, and when I escaped Detective Dammy's clutches, he was still out.
Currently, I'm sitting in front of him, looking at his stressed face. I just realise I haven't seen him in quite a while.
"Heard you wanted to see me." He says.
I'm surprised at how he says that, I splutter.
"Did- Did I do something wrong? Why are you talking to me like that?" I ask him.
He sighs before answering me, "I'm so sorry about that. I did not intend for that to come out that way, I've just been stressed, okay?"
Okay... That definitely doesn't come out well. Which pitched an halt to the gist I had for him.
I smile softly, "I don't know what this is all about but you have to tell me what the hell is going on? Is it because I didn't get to you in the past week? We were all busy with our works."
"I don't want you to call me!" He shouts at me.
My jaw drops, what the hell is going on?
"Did someone blackmail you?" I am so confused.
"You know what, do your own and let me do my work!" He says to me.
"Right! When you are ready to talk tell me! In the mean time, tell me the update of your assignment. I will tell you mine." I say
I repeat what I had told our superior earlier, and how they conveniently didn't realise that Sting has an ammunition company, let alone know where it is located. Thank God for a successful girl's talk, I got the address.
He looks impressed, but I do not talk about anything other than work, if I did something wrong to him, he is supposed to tell me, not bear a grudge.
He begins to brief me about what he found out in the past weeks.
"Sting is just covering for another higher up, his father, the previous Eleniyan. There are some power play in this. You find the long chains of criminal in this file."
He stands up like he can't stand me and leaves without giving me a chance to even talk nor even explaining what is going on.
Which still begs the same question I have initially come to ask?
What the hell is going on?
Mickey barges back in, shouting my name.
"Kelly, come quick!" I might be angry at him but that doesn't mean my brain doesn't speak to me.
My brain tells me from Mickey's frantic voice that someone has probably put the premises on fire.
I begin to run after him without knowing the reason, not that he offered to tell him in the first place.
He stops in front of a vast conference room, he barges in, I follow closely.
It turns out a whole school is under lock down, and the only thing that can save all those children is letting Emeka danger go.
We are all in for a ride.
