Chapter 77,"The Sword And The Spirit"
━━━━━━━━━━━━
After a rush to get changed into clean clothes, we find ourselves in the hospital. And when the elevator door pings open Stiles, Scott, Kira, and I hurry out only to be greeted by a now standing Mr. Stilinski who's clutching tightly to a cane. The four of us subconsciously form a line beside the other and watch as paramedics and nurses wheel in body bag after body bag, a sight that has me cringing.
"Who found them?" Stiles asks from beside me.
"Argent," Stilinski answers before looking over at me, knowing how close I am to him. My stomach twists in a slight knot at his name. I hope he's okay. "and he said the Doctors were down there." He adds and my eyes widen.
"He also said you guys might know what this thing is."
"After a lot of thinking and research...we have a theory." I say.
"It's a slightly terrifying theory." Stiles adds.
"Well, the M.E. said that the victims were killed somewhere else and then dumped in those tunnels." Mr. Stilinski explains to us.
"Hey, what if the Dread Doctors are hiding the bodies." Scott says, causing our brains to run.
"Why would they do that?" Kira asks.
"Maybe they're covering for it," Stiles suggests. "protecting it like a parent would."
"Protecting what?" Asks Mr. Stilinski.
"A Werewolf." Scott answers.
"It's called The Beast." I tell him.
Saying it out loud brings back so many hidden memories. The memories that were fighting to surface because of the connection between this beast and a family. The Argent's.
That day in the school cafeteria with Allison and Lydia.
"'Even the church eventually declared the monster a messenger of Satan.'" Allison reads.
"'It is believed that La Bete was finally trapped and killed by renown hunter who claimed his wife and four children were first to fall prey to the creature.'"
