✧"The neon lights can't even hide the fear."✧
"So, when did you get there?" Dad asks us. Lydia, Kira, Scott, Stiles, and I are sitting against the wall in the sheriff's office while Dad sits in front of us on the desk. Mr. Stilinski sits in the chair behind the desk.
"At the same time." Stiles answers.
"At the same time as who?" Dad asks.
"At the same time as me." Scott answers.
"By coincidence?"
"What do you mean coincidence?" Stiles asks.
"That's what I'm asking you. The two of you arrived at the same time. Was that coincidence?" Dad asks.
"Are you asking me?" Scott asks.
"I think he's asking me." Stiles says.
"I think he's asking both of you." I say.
"Okay, let me answer the questions." Dad starts. We all watch him, waiting for him to say something.
"Let me ask the questions." He corrects himself.
"Just so I have this absolutely clear," He starts while flipping through a notepad. "Barrow was hiding in the chemistry closet at the school. Someone left him a coded message on the blackboard telling him to kill Kira. Then Barrow took Kira to a power substation and tied her up with the intent of electrocuting her, which blacked out the entire town." He finishes. I look around the darkened office where lanterns are scattered about as a light source due to the power loss in the town.
"Sounds about right." Stiles says.
"How did you know he'd take her to a power station?" Dad asks.
"He was an electrical engineer. Where else would he take her?" Stiles answers. He better give me credit.
"That's one hell of a deduction there, Stiles." Dad says.
