Y/N POVAfter doing my last minute packing, I sleepily get ready to go to Camp Cretaceous. It's supposed to be some camp only a selected few can go to. I don't know how I got in.
"Ariana, Get up!" I shake my sister awake.
"Ten more minutes," She mumbles.
"We have to leave in ten minutes," I sass.
She flings her blanket off of her and jumps out of bed.
"Why didn't you wake me up sooner!" She yells.
She's a counselor there so she has to be early.
"I had to get ready first," I shrug.
She rolls her eyes as she washes her face in the bathroom. I head downstairs with my packed suitcase and a carry on backpack. I roll it to my door (nearly tripping down the stairs while doing so) and got breakfast prepared.
"Your father and I needed to get you out and about. Lounging on the couch is not going to help you be prepared for basketball this season," My mother said.
"I know, Mom. It's only a few weeks after summer workouts ended. I'm fine," I groan.
"Where's your sister. She's supposed to be driving you two," She walks over to the stairs.
"She's coming. She just helped me finish packing my stuff. She's getting dressed now," I cover for my sister.
I wasn't heartless. And I always cover for my sister.
"Well, alright," She sighed and got her keys off the counter. Your father and I are leaving now," She kisses my cheek and walks over to the door.
"Bye Angel," My father kissed my head and went to the stairs.
"Bye Ari. Behave," He called up to my sister.
"Alright Dad! Bye!" Ariana called down from her room.
"Bye Dad," I hug him tight.
He nods to me and shuts the door. I take my cereal out and pour my milk.
"We need to go. No time for breakfast," Ariana hops while putting on her shoes.
"But we have 5 more minutes," I sigh.
"Did you finish everything else you needed to do?" She asks.
"Yes," I answer.
"Then go ahead," She sighs and rushes to get our bags in her car.
----
The boat ride was boring and the rocking made me sick. To distract myself I decided to pull out my notepad. I loved writing. I perfered doing it on my computer or my phone but I thought bringing my computer was stupid considering it would just be taken away. And phones weren't allowed. My sister got to keep hers though. I brought 6 different notepads so that I could make multiple books at once. If I got tired of writing one I would move on to the other.
"We're here," My sister is already up with her bag.
We're the first ones and there is one other person in red.
"Hey, Dave!" She calls.
Oh. It's Dave. I wouldn't have recognized him. He's much more... presentable.
"Hey, Ari!" They embrace.
I wave in his direction.
"Come on, bring it in [Y/N]," Dave walked towards me with his arms wide.
