Chapter Two: Secrets

"It's okay, It's okay," Darius reassures.

"This is crazy," I mumble.

"We're all okay," Darius continues to step back.

"Kenji, those bones-- check for a raptor skull," Darius says.

Kenji looks around his body, still pressed against the wall,"What?" He asks.

"In the video game, I-" Darius looks around himself.

"You wanna talk about video games now?" Kenji asked.

The dinosaurs screeched and Darius yelled and fell to the floor. I jumped into the enclosure and threw a stick at a far away pipe. I rushed toward Darius and pulled him up.

"Thanks," He tried to control his breathing but that's impossible when real life dinosaurs were targeting them.

We backed up against the gate I held my notebook close to me. Tears started running down my face.

"HELP!! BROOKLYNN, HURRY UP!" I screamed.

The Dinosaurs got closer and Kenji continued to helplessly bang on the gate. Suddenly, lights began to turn on and that seemed to stun the dinosaurs.

"Hey! Come and get it!" A voice yelled.
It was Roxie.

Pieces of meat were thrown down and the dinos ran in that direction.

"Get out of there!" Roxie yelled.

I would have blank stared her if I wasn't pulled out of the cage. As soon as I stood up, Ariana came running to hug me.

"[Y/N], you could have gotten...dead," Ariana sniffs, "Don't ever do that again."

I hug her tightly and look back at the cage. There was a lot of movement as I tried to catch my breath.

We witnessed Dave puking and that's when my stomach had it. Ariana backs away from me as I let it out in a near bush.
Ariana pats my back and rushes to make sure Dave is alright.

Roxie rushes over with Brooklynn.

"Are you hurt? Is everyone alright?" Roxie asks with concern.

Kenji tries to sneak away but Roxie stops him.

"Woah, woah, woah, where do you think you're going? You, [Y/N]  and Darius are in big trouble," Roxie states.

"What?" I ask, "What about Brooklynn?"

"Save it!" Roxie cuts Darius off. It seems I was just ignored.

I tuned the rest of what she was saying out.

I was writing in my notepad as Kenji kept making a popping sound with his mouth.

"How could you do something so stupid?" Darius yelled.

"I do a lot of stupid things, so you'll have to be a little more specific than that," Kenji said.

I roll my eyes but keep it in my mind. A reckless character...not that bad.

"Girls love a grand gesture, junior. You'll understand when you're older," Kenji sat forward.

"I don't think screaming and crying for your mommy and almost getting us killed was the best way to go," I scoffed.

Kenji frowns and glares at me.

Darius just sighs and shakes his head. Kenji looks between me and Darius.

"Okay, maybe it wasn't my best idea-" Kenji starts.

"You think?" I scoff.

"Look, I don't want to get kicked out either. When my dad..." Kenji cuts himself off.
