"Come on please," Emma begged while Trent sat there unbothered and totally tuning her out while playing his video games. "Trent I really need your help, You're my best friend. You literally have to help me!"

Trent glares at Emma and finally responds "No Emma, you're being crazy right now. I don't get why you don't just handle this like a normal teenager" Emma groans and puts her hands to her face annoyed with how Trent wasn't getting this.

Emma had just spent 15 minutes at her best friends house, Trent, asking him to pretend to be her fake boyfriend because the new guy at school wouldn't leave her alone and she spent another 20 minutes having to explain why exactly that would work.

Emma explains it all again for the 100th time "I'm still not getting it," Trent says all his attention on the game in front of him.

"Alright that's it, your helping me or I'll tell your mom about that one time you got super high and had sex in her bed" Emma whispers in a warning and angry tone.

That seems to get Trent's attention because he whirls his head to look at her and his eyes narrow, "You wouldn't dare" he says gritting his teeth.

Ha, Now he knows he has no other option. Emma deviously smiles "wanna bet?" Trent grabs his pillow and smacks her with it "fine, I guess I'll help you." Emma squeals with excitement "YAY, thank you. You're the best"

Trent playfully rolls his eyes "well it's not like I was given much of a choice, isn't it?" Emma smiles widely and Trent goes back to his video games while she starts rambling about something else.

Emma was glad to be back at school now because she didn't have to worry about that new creepy kid thanks to Trent. The day wasn't far from normal, Emma and Trent hung out like they always do but now when people asked if they were dating they simply just said yes.

Everything at school ran smoothly that was until lunch when the creep decided to come up to Emma while Trent grabbed his food. "Emma, since when are you and Trent a thing?" He asks a little annoyed.

Emma says a quick answer "We always had feelings for each other I guess." The new guy scoffs and tells Emma to follow him but she refuses.

"Listen here-" Trent stands next to Emma and puts his arms around her waist, pulling her close to him. "Is there a problem here?" He asks looking down at the now nervous guy. "N-no. I was just-" Trent interrupts "I honestly don't care. Get out of here"

The guy turns quickly and speed walks away. Emma smiles and nudges Trent's side "Thanks." He keeps his hand on her waist and says, "Yeah yeah, whatever" he finally releases his grip on her and they finish eating.
————————————-
Emma wasn't sure if it was just her but it seemed like ever since she had started "dating" Trent she got stares and glares from every girl. Even in class or when she was simple walking somewhere.

Emma was using the restroom when she hears two girls talking about how ugly she was and that she didn't deserve Trent not even in the slightest. Eventually she had enough and she slammed the door from her stall open.

Before any of the girls could say anything she grabbed one of the girls hair and slammed her face into the stall door, twice, making her scream and cry in pain as blood rushed out of her nose. While she was holding her face, the other girls stepped back in fear. "Don't ever go around talking shit like that again or I swear I'll do something even worse than this to you."

All the girls scamper out of the bathroom and Emma steps outside smiling. "What happened in there?" Trent asks, "Nothing" She chirps then walks out of the school with him.

Emma wondered how they even got into this situation. Not even a minute ago were they walking around the mall looking for things to buy and eating at the food court.

But now here they were with, Emma pushed against the wall Trent's hands gripping her hips, his face so close to hers and his knee between her legs.

Hold on, she remembers how this happened. It was all because of him, that new weird kid. He just had to ruin their mall day by going out of his way to bother the girl. And now look at this, look at them about to kiss just to avoid that weirdo.

"Trent what do we do? He won't leave" Emma whispers, the panic in her voice very obvious. Trent sighs and puts his head on her shoulder, "I think I'm gonna have to kiss you."

Emma laughs a little but stops immediately when she realizes he's not joking. "Wait you're serious?" She asks, smile dropping and her cheeks gaining a light pink color. Trent nods and she looks behind him to see the new guys still there

Emma sighs and then kisses Trent. At first it's awkward, but eventually they start to move in sync and it's one of the most wonderful things Emma's ever experienced. Sure she's kissed people before but this was different. It felt different. He was different. He wasn't just anyone he was her best friend. He was the one by her side when she was sad, he was the one that listened to her rant about all kinds of things, He was the one that made her laugh and feel happier than when she was with anyone else.

Emma opened one eye to peek and see if the new guy is still behind them and when she sees he isn't, she doesn't say anything nor does she pull away from the kiss, in fact she slides a hand through his hair. She savors the moment until he pulls away at last, his lips looking all swollen and pink.

Trent looks into her eyes and that's when they both share a look. One that says it all.

"I don't think this is pretend anymore," is all Trent gets a chance to say before Emma pulls him back in for another kiss which he immediately accepts, his reactions saying a thousand words. Emma thinks to herself, Yeah me neither.
