I take Aaliyah home and put her to sleep right away. I change into some sweats and one of Andrew's hoodies. I text him telling him that we got home safely. Then I hear a knock on the door.
"Who could that be?" I whisper to myself and go downstairs to check who it is. I look through the peephole and see that it's Andrew's parents. Crap, they don't know what happened yet. I open the door for them and let them in.
"Hola mija. We came to help you guys with the baby and to meet her! Where's Andrew?" Andrew's mom tells me. I just look down for a moment.
"He's at the hospital because he stabbed." I tell them.
"What? No not my baby." She says and starts to hyperventilate.
"What happened?" Andrew's dad asks me and tries to calm her down.
"We went to the grocery store and then some lunatic came with a knife. He's okay now but he did lose a lot of blood so they want him to stay at the hospital for a few more days." I explain and rub his mom's back. "He's fine Ms. Davila."
"Can we go see him?" She asks me.
"Yes of course. I'll call him to tell him that you guys are on your way." I say and grab my phone.
"Thank you mija. We'll be back later." His dad tells me. They leave afterwards. I feel so bad for his mom because she started freaking out. I should've explained first. I call Andrew to let him know that they're on their way.
On the call
"Hey babe what's up?" He asks me.
"I just wanted to tell you that your parents came over and are on their way over to the hospital to see you." I say.
"They flew over here that fast?" He says surprised.
"They didn't know about you getting stabbed. I barely told them right now. They came over to see Aaliyah and to help out." I tell him and smile even though he can't see me.
"Oh alright. Is she asleep yet?" He asks.
"Yeah she fell asleep as soon as I laid her down." I say and yawn.
"Good thing my mom is here to help you out with her while I'm over here. Try going to sleep Lex, you sound tired." He tells me.
"Okay I'll call you in the morning. I love you Andrew."
"I love you too Lex." He says and hangs up.
I went upstairs and laid down. I tried to go to sleep but I couldn't because I kept thinking about Andrew and his parents. I decided to watch tv to get my mind off of that. I start to drift off and went to sleep a few minutes later.
I woke up around 8:30 AM and went to check on Aaliyah. Thankfully, she was still asleep. Andrew's parents didn't come home last night so I hope they're okay. I texted Andrew asking him about his parents but he didn't reply. I'm assuming he's still asleep.
I made some scrambled eggs with avocado toast for breakfast. I hear Aaliyah start to cry around 9.
"Good morning princess." I tell her as I pick her up. I get her ready for the day and feed her.

The house feels so empty without Andrew. Right as i think that I get a call from him.
On call
"Good morning babe." He tells me right away.
"Good morning, how do you feel?" I ask him.
"I feel better than yesterday. Are my parents there yet?"
"No they haven't came since yesterday when I called you. Where'd they stay last night?" I ask him with worry.
"They stayed at a hotel because it was late and they didn't want to wake you up."
"It's fine i couldn't really sleep anyways. Me and Aaliyah will come to see you in like an hour." I tell him.
"I can't wait. I'll call you later because the nurses are going to check me right now."
"Okay bye love you."
"Love you too Lex." He says and hangs up. I change and curl my hair. Then I hear a knock on the door. I grab Aaliyah and go downstairs.
"Hey Lexi, sorry we didn't come last night we wanted to make sure you got some sleep." Andrew's mom tells me.
"It's fine I did get some sleep." I tell her and smile. "Look Aaliyah that's your grandma and your grandpa." I tell Aaliyah and turn her so she faces them.
"Aw look at this hermosa." Andrew's dad says as he looks at her.
"Hi Aaliyah. I'm your Nana." His mom says and reaches for her. "Can I carry her?" She asks.
"Yeah of course you're her grandma." I tell her and give her Aaliyah.
"Hi baby." She says and holds Aaliyah. "Honey we're going to stay in California until Andrew gets better so we could help you both." She tells me.
"Thank you so much Ms. Davila." I tell her and hug her.
"Of course Lexi, and for the tenth time, call me Karla." She says and laughs.
"Can I carry her too?" Andrew's dad asks me.
"Yes you could both carry her whenever, you are her grandparents." I tell him.
"You heard? Let me carry her Karla." He tells her and smiles. She gives him Aaliyah and rolls her eyes playfully.
"I'm your poppa Ricky." He smiles at Aaliyah. She stares at him for some time then suddenly she laughs, for the first time ever.
"Oh my god! That was the first time she's laughed!" I tell them and smile.
"It's because she thinks her poppa is funny huh." He says and looks at her, she laughs again. We all laugh too.
"Im going to go see Andrew, do you guys want to go?" I ask them.
"Yeah sure we'll go." Andrew's mom says as she looks at his dad.
"Okay let's get going." I tell them and grab Aaliyah to put her on her car seat. We leave to the hospital to check on Andrew.
