Lex Luthor was always on the cusp of discovering something new and great, something that would put him at the forefront of scientific achievement. And he was determined that his latest creation, a Multiverse portal, would be that something.

But things never go quite according to plan, and when he conducted a test launch of the portal, it malfunctioned, resulting in an unexpected passenger appearing before him. A teenage girl, who looked dazed and confused, stood in front of him.

Lex was initially annoyed at the disruption she had caused, but as he began to interrogate her, he realized that she was just as lost as he was.

The girl, Y/N, had come from a world that she didn't recognize. At first, Lex wanted nothing to do with her, but as the days passed, she began to grow on him. Y/N was determined to help Lex fix his portal, and she threw herself into the task tirelessly, wearing herself down to the bone in the process.

Despite his initial annoyance, Lex couldn't help but admire her dedication and hard work. He began to recognize her as someone who was just as passionate and driven as he was. But as he watched her one day, he realized something that shook him to his core.

Y/N wasn't eating, drinking, or sleeping. She was pushing herself to the brink of exhaustion, and it was only when Lex took a day off to help her that he realized why. Y/N had no one. No family, no friends, no support. She was as alone in this world as he was.

As they worked on the portal together, Lex began to feel a sense of responsibility for Y/N. He couldn't just send her back out into the Multiverse alone. He decided then that he would take her under his wing, teach her the ways of science, and maybe even treat her like a daughter.

It was a new feeling for Lex, one that he had never experienced before. But as Y/N looked up at him with eyes full of wonder and admiration, he realized that he loved her like a father would. And that was something worth fighting for.
