Jason Todd had never been one to take care of anyone other than himself. But when Tim Drake was turned permanently back into a child by a villain's cursed artifact, he found himself unexpectedly appointed as Tim's primary caregiver.

It was a daunting task, but Jason was determined to protect the little boy. He took him to daycare each morning before heading out on his patrols as Red Hood, making sure to pick him up as soon as he could afterwards. It was during these pickups that he met the owner of the daycare, a kind and caring woman named Y/N.

At first, Jason barely paid her any attention beyond the polite small talk that came with being a parent. But as he got to know her better, he found himself drawn to her. She was tough and smart, but also patient and gentle with Tim, showing him the love and attention he needed.

As they started dating, Jason was amazed at how well they fit together. Y/N was understanding of his dangerous lifestyle, and even offered to help him take care of Tim when he had to go on particularly long missions.

But danger was never far away for Jason and his loved ones, and it was only a matter of time before the threats caught up to them. It was a call from Black Mask that changed everything.

"Red Hood, I've got a sniper trained on your little girlfriend," the villain taunted over the phone.

Jason didn't hesitate. Leaving Tim with a trusted friend from his old life as a criminal, he raced to Y/N's side, determined to protect her.

The gunfire was deafening as he arrived, but he managed to take down the sniper just in time. When he found Y/N, she was bleeding heavily, her life hanging in the balance.

In the aftermath of the attack, Jason and Tim visited Y/N in the hospital every day. Tim would crawl up onto her bed, snuggling close to her as she read him books and played games. Y/N was recovering, but it would be a long road.

Throughout it all, Jason realized something. He had found a family in Tim and Y/N, and he would do anything to protect them. For the first time in his life, he had something worth fighting for, and he would not let anything take that away from him.
