Chapter 19

Bruno's POV

I woke up in the morning and Jessica wasn't by my side. "Jessica?!" I screamed down stairs. No answer. I walked to the kitchen and there was a note on the kitchten table. It said,

'I walked to the market. It's only two blocks away.

By the time you read this, I will probably be there.'

Jessie(:

I put the note down and looked at the clock, it was barely 8:30am. She sure wakes up early. I went to go sit on the couch and time just passed, I started to get worry. I ran upstairs and grabbed my phone to call her. On the second ring, she picked up.

"Hello." Jessica answered.

"Hey babe. Just making sure you're fine. Want me to go pick you up?" I asked.

There was a short pause until she finally answered."No, I'm fine. Umm, I might take a while. I ran into a old friend."

Jessica's POV

When I saw Jackson, I didn't know if I should be glad to see him, or be afarid. How does he keep finding me? He wants me dead, but he saved me from this man I've never met in my life. Has he changed? Or is he the same guy?

"Come on." Jackson said, taking out his hand. I toke it and he pulled me up."Are you ok?" He asked. I just nodded my head. I didn't want to speak to him at all. "Look. I'm not gonna hurt you. I promise."

"I can't trust you. Not after everything you have down to me." I told him.

"I just want to talk.Can we at least do that?"

"There is really nothing to talk about." I told him.

"There is a lot to talk about." I stared into his eyes. A couple months ago, he didn't look the way he looked right now. He seemed different.

"Well then hurry up."

"I'm so so so sorry, for all the pain and suffering I put you through. I just..." Jackson looked away, he seemed so hurt.

"What's the matter?"

"I can't tell you." He looked back at me. Tears were in his dark brown eyes.

"Jackson. You can tell me anything."

"I treated you this way because I was afraid to lose you. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me." His words made me feel awkward.

"That's the reason why I left, because you would beat me. If you didn't, I would have stayed. You don't know how bad you tramitized me, physically and mentally." I felt tears coming down my face.

"That's how I grew up. My father would always beat my mother. She threaten him many times she was going to leave, but she never did, because she was afraid he was going to beat her some more. I never wanted to follow in his foot steps. But, I did." He said.

My phone started to ring. I took it out of my packet, and saw that it was Bruno.

"Hello." I answered.

"Hey babe. Just making sure you're fine. Want me to go pick you up?" Bruno asked.

I looked at Jackson. He looked away."No, I'm fine. Umm, I might take a while. I ran into a old friend." Jackson looked back at me.

"Ok babe. See you later." I put my phone back in my packet.

"Was that him?" Jackson asked

"Who?"
