"So what idea were you talking about?" Ifunanya asked the moment the three got to the friendship circle.
Priye began to remove the lid of her jollof rice and plantains, humming to a song that neither of the other girls were familiar with.
"Start talking na." Ayomide probbed, to which Priye just paused, looked at her, and narrowed her lips in an attempt to not say anything. {=>Na - an expression<=}
"Priye, what is it?" Ifunanya asked, placing her food to her left as she waited for her friend to speak.
After chewing and swallowing a piece of plantain, Priye replaced the lid on her own bowl of food and released a sigh before beginning to take a sip of her mountain dew.
"Seriously, you two are not patient at all." She began, placing both hands on her sides as she sat back on the ceramic bench in the middle of the friendship circle, letting her head hang back as she inhaled some air. "It's a beautiful day today to get some things done."
When neither Ayomide nor Ifunanya said anything, Priye sat back up.
"Okay, wait, eat some of your food first. I'll tell you my idea."
Ifunanya shook her head and began taking spoons of her own jollof rice and chicken, and Ayomide did the same.
When she'd had enough for now, Ifunanya replaced the lid on her bowl.
Priye then began to speak. "So, I was thinking that since Miss Anita has shown herself to be really wicked - first with you, Ifu, and now with Ayo, I was thinking, I don't want her to come for me so -"
"So what?" Ayomide asked, replacing her own lid.
"Wait, let me finish na." Priye said.
"Sorry, continue." Ayomide replied.
"Anyway, I was joking, I don't care if that woman tries anything with me; she knows better than to try me."
Ifunanya rolled her eyes and Ayomide made a face.
"Anyway, as I was saying, I'm thinking, why don't we try to separate her and Mr. Oyi? It's as if that's what's getting to her head - her relationship with Mr. Oyi, and that's why she's misbehaving like this."
"Wait, wait, you want to try to come between her and her boyfriend? Are you crazy?!" Ifunanya asked, adjusting her position on the bench.
"Is that the big idea you were talking about?" Ayomide asked, shaking her head.
"I'm not saying I want to come between them, I'm saying we." Priye corrected, eyeing her friends.
"There's no we. That sounds so evil. I'm not playing any part in it, Priye." Ifunanya said, releasing a deep sigh.
"See ehn, all you have to do is seduce Mr. Oyi, that's all." Priye continued, staring at Ifunanya.
Ifunanya continued to eye her. "Why are you looking at me?"
"Because you will be the one to do it na." Priye answered, drawing closer to Ifunanya who just shifted on the bench.
"It doesn't make sense. Mr. Oyi is a good teacher. I can't do that to him, abeg." {=>Abeg - Please<=}
Priye scoffed frustratingly, "You are not doing anything to him. It's to that evil girlfriend of his. She's the one that will feel it."
Ifunanya opened her bowl of food again and began to pick at her food.
"So...what do you say?" Priye probbed, holding her hands together in front of her.
"Why don't you do it?"
