Billie hadn't seen or heard from Marie in two whole months. Since Eric left, she kept Marie's picture by her bedside table because thoughts of her still consumed her mind. She couldn't bear to be without her. Billie tried calling her over and over, but Marie wouldn't pick up.

Billie came to the fact that she wasn't getting Marie back and she had to move on.

Eric abruptly left for a business vacation, but he kept the purpose a secret from Billie. She believed that as a married couple, they should be loyal and open with each other, just like Marie had promised. Billie expected their situation to be somewhat similar.

"How you feeling about this whole situation" Zoe questioned

"Yeah, things are getting better" Billie and Zoe were sitting in the waiting room, eagerly anticipating their doctor's appointment for the baby.

The moment they had been waiting for was just around the corner - finding out the gender of their little one. The excitement was palpable, and Billie couldn't believe how much joy this pregnancy was bringing her. It exceeded her expectations, filling her heart with pure happiness and anticipation for the future.

Zoe approached Billie with a warm smile, gently rubbing her belly. "Hey there, little one," she cooed. "I promise you, I'm going to be the best auntie ever!" Billie couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions.

She appreciated Zoe's excitement and support, but deep down, she was still healing from her previous relationship with Marie. With a forced laugh, Billie masked her true feelings, not wanting to burden Zoe with her lingering emotions.

It was important for Billie to prove to herself and everyone else that she had moved on, even though inside, she knew the journey to healing was still ongoing.

That means she has to fake a smile everyday but when she goes back to her room at the end of the day her smile disappears and she goes back to staring at the pictures of Marie.

Billie often finds herself putting on a brave face, even when she's feeling overwhelmed. Sometimes, she has to tidy up her room because the maids come in to clean. It's a small act, but it symbolizes the internal struggle she faces.

Deep down, she knows she's not ready to move out of her dad's house, even though Eric wants her to. The thought of leaving the comfort of her childhood home and starting a new life with him is daunting.

It's not just about getting married; it's a life-altering decision that weighs heavily on her mental health. Despite her efforts, it feels like no one truly understands the emotional toll this is taking on her.

"I have to use the bathroom I'll be back really quick" Billie mumbled.

Billie stepped outside of the building, a mix of emotions swirling within her. The urge to call Marie tugged at her heart, despite the knowledge that it might upset others if they found out. She couldn't ignore the deep longing she felt, the need to hear Marie's voice once more.

As she stood there, the cool breeze brushed against her skin, offering a moment of solace amidst her conflicted thoughts. Billie hesitated, her finger hovering over Marie's name in her contact list. Memories flooded her mind, both beautiful and painful, reminding her of the bond they once shared.

With a deep breath, Billie summoned the courage to tap on Marie's name, her heart pounding in her chest. The anticipation grew as the phone rang, each passing second feeling like an eternity. Doubts crept in, whispering that maybe this was a mistake, that Marie wouldn't answer or worse, that she would reject her call once again.

But Billie silenced those doubts, determined to take this leap of faith. "If she doesn't answer, well, what harm could one more call do?" she thought, her voice filled with a mix of hope and uncertainty. The dial tone continued, and Billie's heart sank slightly, fearing that her attempt to reconnect would be in vain.
