The first sight

Light came pouring in.
(Thump.. Thump)
My heart raced.

I waited for my eyes to adjust, then painstakingly climbed out of the hole I was trapped in for so long.

I basked in the view. The deep blue dawn was spread vast and wide. Like huge comfy blanket wrapped around me.

The deeper parts were sprinkled with an array of twinkling little stars.

The sun was a red orb with faint streaks of red and yellow around it.
Pink and purple clouds spread so marvelously. It was beautiful.

Broken buildings and the debris laid out. A small pool of water reflecting this scene, with weeds growing out of the cracked concrete floor.

It was all so...beautiful. I could not think of anything else.

The wind blew faintly as if to soothe my soul and caress my wounds. The slight coldness sent shivers down my spine, yet it was magical. Nature always was.

(Thud) I sat down right there on all that debris

I sat down right there on all that debris. I couldn't move. I don't know if it was the mystical feeling from the scenery or the relief washing over me like a bucket of cold water after all the hard work. But..

(Yawwwn...hmpf)
I laid down in the most comfortable position, and fell asleep right then and there.
