Not Quite Sisters

Chapter 1 Anastasia

   "Ominis come on, you're going to make us late for the train!" I said while helping my Brother onto the platform as we got our bags settled. I helped my twin Brother over to our room for the ride and sat down. I stared out the window as trees, bushes and mountains pass by as the train moves along the tracks to Hogwarts. I look over at my twin brother to see that he is studying already. I roll my eyes looking at him and think to myself we are not even at school and he's already studying.

"Ominis relax, it's our 5th year and we are going to do more studying this year than any year we've had before. Plus I bet you Sallow has studied all of it already, you and I both know that he reads a lot." I say while taking my brother's hand in mine.

" I just don't want to be behind this year. I'm tired of being a burden on people because of my disability. You, Seb and Anne have helped me so much, but I don't want you to have to help me my entire life." He said with a nervous tone.

" Oh Merlin , I never want you to think that you are a burden in our lives. Ominis, we are family. And Seb and Anne are always there to help." I said while getting my Slytherin cloak on and fixing my hair in a tight bun. "Plus Ominis we can go to Hogsmeade and get some sweets." I said while fixing my brother's hair.

"I'm definitely dueling against Sallow tonight in the undercroft later. Are you coming to the undercroft tonight?" I said, grabbing my bags the train stopped.. When I finished getting situated to leave, a pair of hands covered my eyes.

"Guess who?" A man purrs into my ear.

" Sebastian!" I said while turning around and hugging him. " Oh how I've missed you Seb!"

"Missed you too my darling " We started to head to the castle as me and my brother Ominis caught up with our oldest friend, Sebastian Sallow. When we get to the Slytherin common room, we split up to go unpack and get ready for the sorting ceremony for the first year. I head to the great hall and sit down next to Sebastian and Ominis. Once everyone is seated I watch as Headmaster Black and Professed Weasley come out with the sorting hat and smile knowing that we can tease some first years. I lean over to Sebastian and whisper in his ear.

" Are we still going to tell the first years about seeing a mermaid through our windows in the common room?" I hear him give a little chuckle and nod his head yes. As we watch the first years get sorted, most of them get sorted between Ravenclaw and Gryffindor. Then I see some 5th years get sorted in Slytherin and the other one into Ravenclaw. I look a little harder at the one who got placed into our house and recognize her. I gasp somewhat loudly when the boys sitting next to me ask me if I'm okay. I tell them I'm fine and make a note in braille for Ominis and hand it to him. I watch him run his hand over it to read it and nods in my direction. After the headmaster lets us go I head over to the undercroft as Sebastian comes with me.

"Seb, did you notice we had two new students who are around our age?" I said while unlocking the undercroft for us.

"I saw them but at the one that got placed into our house you gasped do you possibly know them?" I asked while letting me head down first.

" I think I do. Me and Ominis had a girl we used to play with all the time when we were younger. but I don't remember exactly what happened to her." I said while sitting on the floor of the undercroft waiting for my brother to arrive.

"There you two are. Now what's so urgent Annie. Are you alright?" Ominis asks while sitting next to me.

" Ominis I'm fine but do you remember the little girl we used to play with as kids?" I asked while playing with my cloak.

" Yes Lola Blackthorn I believe her name was. Why do you mention her?" He asks

"Would it be crazy to say I think she just got sorted into our house?" I say.

" There's no way she could be here.. She attends Ilvermorny if I remember correctly.. She couldn't have moved here. I remember her Mother being very strict about that. Unless something were to happen. ." He said with furrowed eyebrows as his voice trails off.

"Omi that happened when we were five. You never know, unless her father sent an owl to her Mother or something?." I said as I stand up and tapped Sebastian on the shoulder as a challenge to duel.

" Up for a little dual now Sallow " I said in a playful tone and smiled as I prepared my wand. Sebastian smiles and casts a basic cast on me and smiles.

"I'm surprised you usually use Confringo. You know I'm not a fragile little princess. I want a real challenge today." I say while hitting him with leviosa and a basic cast after. The duel lasted for about an hour and both of us were sweating and breathing heavily. After we relaxed for a bit we made our way back to the common room and relaxed by the fire. I kicked my feet up on Sebastian's lap and started falling asleep a bit. While dozing off I feel a cloak get draped across me.

"Rest well my darling" I hear Sebastian mumble into my ear. I feel a pair of arms pick me up and take me to my dorm. The next morning I woke up to my Niffler Atticus on my chest.

"Good morning my baby boy" I say petting my pet. I got out of bed and got dressed for my classes and did my hair.

As I sit in charms class, I see a girl with blond hair walk in.

"You must be Lola Blackthorn. Lovely to meet you. I'm Anastasia Gaunt." I said while motioning her to come sit by me.
