After the incidence with Alexis we had a pretty normal life. Dean never bothered us anymore. I had been keeping my grades up pretty well too.
Beth and Daryl were dating, and Ginny had found someone as well. Dria, Al, and Alexis were all comfortably single. Nik and I still haven't sorted out our feelings though.
All was well.
Until the heartbreaking news came one week before the end of school.
"Guys, I'm moving this summer."
This can't happen now. Not after this whole year.
Nik was moving, and that was for certain.
I basically jumped on him as I hugged him tight. "You can't move away from us... You just can't." I say this while slightly crying on his shoulder.
"I'm sorry Steph, its not really a choice."
"But your graduating this year! You can stay with us, you can't leave."
He just couldn't move, his parents couldn't make him, he's a legal adult now.
"I'm moving because I'm graduating. I'm going to college."
No. No no no no no! This cannot be happening.
"When..." I say in a barely audible whisper. I had backed away from Nik by now.
"The first week of July. I really am sorry Steph, but this is my dream! I've waiting far to long for college."
At least he'll be here for the county fair, and my birthday. "Your going to the fair with me then."
He nods silently and that was what made the worst day of my life the worst. I won't see him anymore.
