The scene changed from the ballroom to outside by a pond or a lake.
I saw a young boy with a baby girl by the shore, and then I heard, “Dustin bring your little sister over here, so you can eat your lunch.”
I turned around and saw a beautiful woman and a handsome man. The man looked like Dustin with dirty, blonde hair, sky blue eyes, and tan skin. He looked like a man with power; the woman looked like me long golden blonde hair crystal blue eyes that seemed to change colors like mine do and pale skin. She looked happy and peaceful. Then, it hit me. Those two people were my parents, and I gasped at the shock. My heart started to hurt with lost, and I started to cry.
Then, the scene changed again.
I was in the castle, but all the guards and soldiers were running around in frantic. I looked around confused then I saw my mother scream, “Where are my children?” over and over again.
My dad said, “In safety, we have to go and protect the castle and our children.”
“I want to see them one more time. If I die, I want their faces to be the last thing I remember.”
Dustin came around the corner and a guard was carrying me. Dustin and I were crying. “Mommy what is going on?” Dustin asked.
“We are under attack, go back, ok? Your father and I love y’all both. When Rikki Lynne grows older tell her that for us, ok?” she cried.
“Ok, I will. I love y’all too.”
“Mommy,” I said. That was my first word I said.
That did it my mom started crying hard. Then it happened. The dragon came around the corner and took them both and just like that the dragon left.
Before the scene went blank, I saw my uncle laughing.
* * *
I woke up gasping for air, sweating, and tears running down my face. First person I saw was my brother, he ran to me, “P, are you ok? What happened? I am going to go get the doctor.” He ran out.
Next person I saw was Taylor, then Sammi, Chase, and Hailey. They all said at once, “Girl, what is the matter with you? You have been out for two days.”
I asked myself, “Two days? It only felt like minutes.” I answered their question, “I don’t know. I will tell y’all something later, but I need some rest first.”
“Ok,” and they all left.
The next person to come in was the one person of the three, I didn’t want to see, which was Prince Jarrod, “How you feeling?”
“Fine,” I said kind of in a mean and avoided eye contact.
“That’s good. Umm… about the party,” he said sitting in the chair next to my bed, “I know it was a surprise, but what would your answer be if you had a choice?
That caught me off guard, “Ummmm……….”
He cut me off, “It’s ok. You don’t have to answer me right now. You need some rest. I’ll been in the kingdom for three more days. Please just let me know by then.” With that said, he left the room looking sad, and when he and my brother past, they glared at each other.
“How are you feeling, Princess?” the doctor said.
“Umm… tired, wiped out, exhausted, confuse.”
“Well, that seems about normal.”
Dustin and I looked confused, “What do you mean by normal?” we asked.
“Well, you were in a black out, I call it. There is no good of an explanation for it. Let me guess; you saw things from when you were a child, that you don’t remember?”
I nodded.
“Exactly the same thing happened to your mother. She had “black outs, and when she was giving birth to you she had one, and I am guessing you got that passed down to you.”
I remember that, when mom kind of fell quiet for an hour,” Dustin said.
“Yes, it starts around 16 or 17,” he said, “I am so sorry, Princess, be strong. Don’t let it affect the way you rule. It’s a valuable gift. Both of you don’t let your uncle know or your fate will be the same.”
Dustin and I were in shock at what he said. But I did have my suspicions about my “family”. The doctor left, and I explained my black out to Dustin. He didn’t look surprised.
