Genshin oneshots~ PART 1

Seized by the Abyss [Xiao x Aether]

TW: Mentions of blood, and a bit violent.

Xiao POV:
"Mmm~" I hummed to myself quietly as I bury my lips into Aether's sun kissed hair, it had been a long day, the abyss is becoming more and more active, people are being killed left and right sometimes I feel just a twinge of concern for my own life. Who knows if someones watching me in the shadows? "Heheh... you're so cute Xiao..." Aether says softly into my ear, his warm breath tickles my skin as I shudder a little and blush "...Aether... can you teach me about this thing you mortals call 'laughing'? I believe mortals do it when something is funny, or when they're happy, correct?". Aether looks at me softly and warmly, "Yes! That's right! So you basically say "Ha" with passion and at a fast pace over and over, sometimes you get so consumed with joy your cheeks will hurt and tears would come to your eyes, why don't you try?" He smiles sweetly at me. I gather my thoughts before trying, "H-Ha... HA! HOHAHO. HoHaHooooo~" my voice suddenly goes an octave higher, slight embarassment floods into my body and I look away slightly. Aether laughs loudly, "That's a bit unnatural Xiao, wait let me just..." he pulls a funny face, he first pouts his face like a puffer fish, then he sticks his tongue out and waves his arms around, then he finally started to jump up and down scratching himself all over as if there was itching powder in his clothes, a small smile tugs the side of my lips, suddenly an explosive laughter slips from my lips "HAHAHAH!!!" I cover my mouth in surprise, what the hell did I just do? Aether looks at me with wide eyes, "I never knew you were a loud laugher Xiao..." I put my mask on and cross my arms, "...whatever". 

There was a brief moment of silence, "want to head to Wuwang Hill to watch the moon and stars?" Aether suggests, I nod slightly. I hold Aether gently in my arms as I teleport to a cliff at Wuwang Hill swiftly. I place him down gently on the grass and we begin to walk towards the top of the cliff, I grip Aether's hand tightly, I can't help but feel uncomfortable on the walk up... something feels wrong, a bit ominous, a bit eerie. We eventually make it to the top of the cliff and we sit down, "isn't the moonlight pretty Xiao?" Aether says looking up at the bright crescent hanging in the night sky, the stars scatter all around it, as strange as it sounds... I could see a faint red glow coming from the stars. "W-We should go" I say a bit shakily and stood up, "Why? We just got here..." Aether said frowning a bit, "I sense dange-" before I could finish my sentence a boulder hits Aether in the head. My eyes widen as I stand in front of him, blocking any more attacks with my body, "WHO'S THERE?!" I shout out into the darkness. I hear a sinister little cackle, "Hm... it seems I've been caught red-handed..." a hydro abyss mage slowly floats over to me, I grip my polearm tightly as it inches closer, "You have conquered many demons... but you will NEVER conquer the abyss..." it says mockingly. "Say what you want, just don't hurt Aether" I say firmly, Aether grips my waist a bit. The abyss mage laughs hysterically, "You of all people are heads over heels for some mortal?" the abyss mage moves it's face closer to mine, "How pathetic..." that was it. I grabbed the abyss mage by the throat fuming, "How...dare...you..." I say in a lowly voice. "D-Don't...think...that was all..." it says through multiple breaths. 

Suddenly, the trees begin shaking and the ground vibrates violently, multiple lawachurls emerge from the trees followed by a whole school of abyss mages and multiple tribes of hilichurls, they all are surrounded by black misty sinister energy. Sure, I've taken down huge demons, or squads of them coming at me, but all of these at once...? I waste no time, "EVIL CONQUERING!" I bellow at the top of my lungs as I start fending them off, Aether pulls out his sword and joins me, slashing and cutting at the enemies, multiple gashes are made on my arms and legs some on my waist but that didn't matter, I run charging at the hilichurls striking them all in the chest until I have a whole row of them on my polearm like a kebab. I swing the dead bodies at the lawachurls blinding them with blood and debris. The grounds of Wuwang Hill was stained with blood and bodies were everywhere. "YOU SHALL NEVER WIN!" An abyss lector enters the scene and has Aether in a tight headlock and pinned to the ground, "AETHER!!" my voice breaks out in an desperate cry, "Let him go you bastard!" I growl as a fire ignited in my heart, I run up from behind and was ready to stab the lector, but in one swift movement, the abyss lector twisted Aether's head and his body falls lifeless. I instantly pause, the world seemed to stop, the abyss lector slowly slips away and I run to Aether side and hold him close in my arms, no no no no no... the light drains from his eyes as his skin feels cold. "NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!" I yell at the top of my lungs, tears stream down my face uncontrollably, soon ugly sobs escape my mouth. I feel as if all the pain I've been accumulating over the years have been let out all at once, I cry and cry and cry... why...why must I lose everything? Why can't I ever be happy...? I hug Aether's lifeless body for several hours before burying it under my favorite tree at Qingyun Peak, I place a few crystal cores on the soft soil and I sit beside it. 

I feel tears fall down on my face again, I miss you my love... I'm incomplete without you... I kiss my fingers and press it into the soil. I will always protect you Aether, I love you. The next morning, I head to the balcony of Wangshu Inn and stare out into the bright Liyue sun, the abyss had backed off ever since the huge battle, but I feel like there still isn't peace. "Hey Aeth-" I pause, "Right... he's gone..." I said quietly and sadly. My heart aches and it feels as if half of it was missing. 

Over the next few weeks, my heartache continued to get worse and worse, why was it so hard to get rid of? I started feeling really depressed and unable to function properly, I just hid on the roof of Wangshu Inn all day, life has no point. I decided to take a walk down in the Chasm, the layers of rock emits vibrant colors as geo energy flow in and out of the Chasm, I walk with a heavy heart to the center, the pain in my heart was unbearable. I look one look at the deep dark hole, as I say quietly, "Morax... I'm sorry, but now it's time for the downfall of the last yaksha... don't save me" I let myself fall backwards and I close my eyes, I fall for quite a while, feeling the air rush past my ears. My body finally hits the bottom and I feel a rush of the most immense pain spread throughout my whole body before everything went blank. When I awoken, I was laying on a cloud, I blinked a few times before my vision cleared, the skies were streaked with orange and hints of pink and blue, is this...heaven? "Xiao!" I turned around and cried instantly, a golden haired boy with a plait and gorgeous waist runs towards me, "Aether..." my voice becomes soft and slightly cracks. "Xiao..." I hug him tightly, tears streaming down both our cheeks. "I will always be with you my love..." I say softly into his hair, "So will I... we will always be together, death will never do us apart" Aether says caressing my cheek,  he squeezes my hand and looks off into the cloudy abode watching the swallows dip and glide in the blue, free and united.
