Aonung and I pulled away from our kiss as we looked into each others eyes, "I have wanted to do that since I first met you" he whispers against my lips. He takes me into his embrace as he rests his chin on top of my head, "I will never let anyone hurt you again Ma Làni" he says places a couple kisses to my head. I blushed at what he called me..he called me his.
"Come on you should go home, I'll see you in the morning" he says as he helps me stand up. "But I wanna stay with you" I whispered as I wrap my arms around his torso, he smiled at my words. "I'll see you in the morning okay?" He responds trying to pry my hands away from him, "no" I whine as I swat his hands away, letting out a small yawn. "So, you get clingy when you're tired, hmm?" He questions down to me with a chuckle, I just huff. "I'm sure you don't want your father to kill me so come on." With those words I let out a deep sigh letting him go as he walked me back to my pod.
"Are you okay?" My mother questions patting the spot besides her to sit. I sit down with her as my family all sit around in a circle, "I'm fine.." I respond back trying to sound as convincing as I could. "Nàlàni" my mother questions, "they kept calling me a demon, Aonung has said he wants me ..but does he really want a demon" I say as I look down in shame.
"You're not a demon. And I doubt Aonung sees that Làni, if he has chosen you why would he?" My mother questions me as I shrug my shoulders. "Is Aonung who you choose?" My father asks adding himself to the conversation, "I think so" I whisper back to him worried about his response. "If he makes you happy then I'm proud. But if he ever wrongs you again he is dead" my father says ending his sentence with a chuckle.
"Thank you.." I say as I look to my father, "for letting me be happy" he came over to me as he gave me a big hug. "I'm so sorry baby girl. Now, go get a good night of sleep" he says placing a kiss on top of my head sending me over to my hammock.
I awoke early before all my family as I had Tsahík training today, she was going to take me to the warriors grounds. I made my over to the beach, "good morning my child, how are you feeling today" she says greeting me. "Morning Ronal, I'm feeling good today thank you" I say with a smile as she nods her head handing me some empty bowls.
"The warriors went hunting early this morning, we will tend to any that may need help" she says as she walks us across the beach. The closer we get to the tents we see many warriors pulling ropes behind them as they drag a beast up onto the shore, it was an Akula the animal that had attacked me.
As the beast got on the shore the warriors cheered in happiness at their victory. As I looked through the crowds I saw Aonung..only warriors were helping the boy walk. I instantly dropped the bowls to the floor as I rushed to his side, "Aonung! What happened?" I shouts as I see blood coming from his stomach, I tried to apply as much pressure as I could, "Nàlàni I'm fine" he says quietly through massive puffs.
I shake my head at his words, "get him to the tents now!" I shout to the warriors as they start to walk him over. I run back over to Ronal, "Aonung he's hurt..he's bleeding badly!" I shout in a panic, "calm my child you have to be calm. Come on" she says as she starts to pick up her pace making her way to the tents.
My ears twitched as I heard Aonung hissing in pain, I rushed to his side as I brushed the other warriors away. Tears start to form in my eyes as I look to Ronal, "clean the wound. Get rid of the blood" she says sternly giving me a nod. I grab a piece of cloth from the side as I quickly dunk it into a bowl of water ringing it out. "This may sting" I say as I gently pat the wound clearing the blood away, I watch as he scrunched his face up.
"What happened" I question worried as I look at him, "karma" he jokes, "not the time" I say as I roll my eyes. "The Akula caught be off guard..I'm okay Nàlàni, just a bit sore" he says trying to reassure me as I shake my head, "no. No you're not look that the blood" I say as I keep wiping it away. Ronal comes by my side, "my child the water will make it look worse, use this dry cloth so we can see the wound" she says handing it to me.
