New Faces All-Around

     "Ready as I'll ever be," I say with barely any confidence, I have no idea what I'm going to be doing, all I know is that I'm going to be escaping with this lady and maybe a few more others.

     "Good, now go down this hallway and make your first left. My sister-comrade will be with you if anyone asks where you are going, do not answer. When you get there knock three times then say "AP sent me."' Celine readjusts a mask that conceals her face and hair over her head. 

     I keep my head down I cautiously walk down the hallway, the only thing I could hear was my heartbeat and hitched breathing. Don't panic Y/n; the woman you just met has it all under control.

     I made my way to the room without any trouble, hopefully, the person that Celine said would be there is actually there. I take a turn to face the door and then knock three times.

     "AP sent me," I say timidly. I hear shuffling and a click of the lock, the door opens and to my surprise, I see a kid no older than 13 at the door, she wore a similar outfit to Celine, however, it was less armory...

     "You must be Y/n, huh, you can call me Nori. That's what people at the compound call me." Nori went further into the room. Nori had tanned skin, freckles, green eyes, and brown short hair. I look further into the room and there I saw another person, dark hair cut short but it was really wavy, he had amber eyes that seemed more yellow under his glasses, and his skin color was a sort of olive. And instead of wearing armor, he wore a simple white long-sleeve shirt with a short-sleeve green hoodie over it and plain black jeans. The person was typing away at a large security monitor.

     "Watch your feet." I hear Nori say, I look down and see three unconscious guards, I stumble a bit before hopping over them to follow Nori to the other person. 

     "Geez..." I say under my breath. "What is even going on?" I ask.

     "Didn't Celine tell you not to ask any questions?... It'd take too long to explain what's going on." The kid said putting her hands on her waist. "Well anyways..."

     "Introduce yourself," Nori whispered to the typing guy and nudged him with her elbow.

     "Oh, uh, right, uh...hold on..." He continued to type and I just stood there awkwardly...

     "Ugh, this is Arte, with an E, he's the hackerman of our little group." Nori chuckled a little bit while saying "Hackerman" which I honestly thought was pretty funny. "He's always like this so don't bother. Uhh...right! We just have to wait until this part of The Trench breaches and the second part of the plan will be in full swing!" Nori said maneuvering her way around the bodies on the floor to a desk chair with wheels.

     "The Trench?" I ask, Bryson called it something else but I couldn't recall what, and frankly I don't really care what it was called.

     "Celine didn't tell you? Well, this place is called The Trench, that's what we like to call it anyways. In reality, it's just the sewer system under your little town out here." Nori rests her head on her hands and sighs.

     "Everything good on your end?" I hear Arte say while pressing a button on the massive keyboard. 

     "Yes, everything is going well. Breach is initiating in 5 minutes be ready to move out." Celine says while looking up into the camera set in the corner of the room she is in. "I will be there shortly, remember the plan." Celine leaves after saying fair wells to Arte and Nori.

     "Alright, Nori you know the drill." Arte throws Nori her helmet and a gun- wait a gun? 

     "For a child?!" I say quickly turn to Arte who was packing up his own computers and gadgets into a computer bag. "Doesn't that seem a bit, I don't know, irresponsible?" 

     "You are so funny! Who the hell do you think knocked out those guards? Like hell I'm going to risk getting my stuff damaged." Arte crossed his arms, "Who even are you again?" He stared at me and looked me up and down with distaste.

     "Uh-" 

     "Ugh, whatever Arte, Y/n let's just get ready. Here you put this on. Oh, and you DO know how to use a gun right?" I nod slowly while watching Nori move around adjusting her equipment and placing her helmet on her head. "Celine should be here any minute now, let's hope nothing came up." Nori and  Arte exchange items by throwing them across the room to each other, (wow ... looks like they've done this so many times before to be so coordinated like this...)

     I walk to a corner of the room and watch as iteNori and Arte get ready, Nori seems so young to be working in this type of environment...I wonder what happened to her to make her work here...

     "Only 2 minutes until breach, be ready! It's about to go DOWN!" Nori says with a spark of excitement in her eyes. I look down at the blindfold I was given and grimace a little, I hope CC's alright.

     I bring the blindfold to my eyes and tie it around my head, the only way to get outta here is with these guys. I've risked so much, for Jorn and for CC. What else can I lose?
