Tired wasn't even a word to describe the way that Bria currently felt. On top of waking up early to come see Israel, her body was still so sore from her time with Santana yesterday. She didn't know how she made it out her house without passing out.
"Boss man a little on edge today. Hopefully you can get him to ease off of us." Israel's driver, James, spoke to Bria with partial humor but she could tell he was mostly serious.
"What happened?" She asked, stepping into the elevator at the rear of the building with him and the security guard.
"I'm not sure. He came in a little hot and then he got a call with some bad news when I took him to grab breakfast. I try not to agitate him further with questions." He said with light sarcasm.
"Thank you for warning me." Bria chuckled, and he tipped his hat at her before gesturing her off of the elevator.
Dressed in a satin pajama short set, fuzzy bedroom slippers from Amazon and her bonnet, she walked inside of Israel's office without knocking, being greeted by the smell of warm donuts like she'd requested.
"Yo what the fuck is w-oh, shit. My bad Bria. I ain't know who it was walking in." Israel looked up from his computer at her, watching her close and lock the door behind herself.
"Good morning to you too." She leaned down to press her lips against his, being kissed back for a moment before he pulled away with a small smile.
"I missed you. You look cute mama." He stood up from his rolling chair, lightly gripping on her backside to pull her closer to him.
"I missed you too. I didn't change when I woke up 'cause I wanna nap while you yell at people and work. Did you eat a donut?" She gave him one more kiss, then walked over to his couch with her bag and blanket in her hands.
"Nah. I had a McMuffin before I came in. Who told you I was yelling at people? James?" He chuckled, watching her lay down on his sofa with her body facing in his direction.
"Mhm. He said you been mad since earlier. What happened pumpkin?" She bit into a glazed donut with sprinkles on top; her favorite.
"A random earthquake hit California this morning and took out five million dollars of my property. Then the fucking insurance company saying it ain't much they can cover since it was a natural disaster which isn't in their terms. I was mad about that 'cause my financial advisor supposed to make sure shit like that is secured but they overlooked it in the contracts." He walked back over to his computer, seemingly angry again.
"Then my payroll company is based in California and the earthquake knocked out they systems so a lot of my people can't get paid until whenever they get it back up. Now everybody calling me and I know I should've had backup plans in case shit like this happened but I don't and I just been tryna get shit back in order."
Bria listened to his rant and watched the way his mug reappeared on his face while he explained, going back to his original task of typing furiously on his computer.
