Bria redid her lower lash line mascara for the third time, praying that she didn't cause it to become runny again with her crying. She'd been shedding tears since she woke up an hour ago, and was now running late because of it.

She couldn't believe she was actually pregnant. Even though she hadn't been to her appointment yet, she'd taken twelve pregnancy tests over the last week just because she couldn't fathom the confirmation of her carrying an actual baby.

Now, here she was, currently getting ready for her first ever prenatal visit with the obstetrician who would be seeing her for the next nine months. A whole nine months, where she would be allowing an entire human to grow inside of her.

"I'm about to kill myself bruh." She pouted, beginning to fan her eyes just as they started to burn again.

Hearing a knock on her door, she sniffed, trying to hide the fact that she was ever crying. Her puffy, red stained eyes were an obvious sign though.

"Bria we late mama, what you doing? I told you to come outside ten minutes ago." She could hear Santana's voice, and his key chain jingle as he shut her front door.

"I'm crying. I don't wanna go anymore 'cause I keep messing up my makeup." She tried not to whine, but could also hear her own voice crack.

A few seconds later, Santana's reflection could be seen behind her in the mirror. His frown disappeared at the look on her face, being replaced with a smile because he loved how emotional she was now.

He grabbed a paper towel from the roll, folding it around his index finger. Then, he held it on her bottom eyelid, letting her blink into the napkin so that it absorbed her tears.

"Thank you Tana." She sniffed again after he did the same thing to her other eye.

"You welcome. You look pretty fat mama. Yo' makeup look good." He assured, fixing a stray strand of hair so that her part was clean.

"Thank you. I think it's the setting spray, I used one I got off TikTok instead of my regular one. I think it looks good too." She said, and although he didn't know what setting spray way, he nodded to agree with her.

Bria walked past him to grab her purse off of her bed, taking one last look at herself in the large mirror against the wall. Satisfied, she let Santana lead the way out of her room, and then out of the house.

When she got in his car, warm glazed donut holes with sprinkles on top were waiting for her. That made her smile; she loved eating donuts for breakfast. The glazed ones with sprinkles were her favorite, too.

The ride to the women's clinic didn't take that long, but it felt like an eternity for Bria. With every mile they closed in on, her heart sunk further and further into her stomach. She was literally dreading this appointment.

How could she have been so careless?

"I'm not big and fat yet. Why you acting like I can't get out the car by myself?" Bria let Santana help her up, watching as he closed the door behind her.
